Thanks for sharing these videos. This is my favourite GA aeroplane, I used to drool over one when I had my flying lessons, so elegant. It's great to get a chance to see the plane in action. I'll keep doing the lottery.

Thank you sir, for this very informative video and explanation(s) that you provided. I'm going to get a PT-6 engined aircraft someday and this just further helps me to understand some of the aspects of working with the PT engine.

I fully understand how recordation of cycles & temps is a good practice. How do you figure it save thousands in maintenance costs? Going "on condition" simply lets you not abide by TBO and HS limits, however doing this reduces resale value immensely. TBO and hot section costs are based on hours accumulated, not cycles or temps.

Hi Lix, Pratt Whitney tells me that they will encourage blade replacement when the engine is not properly documented.. at $1,200 each. Yikes! Keep the ETCM coming! Fly Safely - Train Often

I believe the TBM has an app that lets you plug in the relevant altitude, temp and so on and it spits out the desired engine settings. Is there a similar app for the Meridian?

Hi Mike, There is not an application for the Meridian. It is also true that the power chart is mercifully simple obviating any need for such a thing. Fly Safely- Train Often!

I was trained to fly to torque but limited to the lesser of 1250 or POH in section five. Do you think this is conservative? Also, I get a cart start every time I can. Sometimes with a quick turn with a cart start, I struggle how long to let the itt drop before before engaging condition lever. I want to make it as cool as possible without exceeding 30 second limit on starter. Any thoughts on itt limits with 28v?

Hi Bob, The 1250 torque is not a limitation but rather an approximate setting to get the aircraft climbing while not hyper-focusing on power setting. Follow the POH power settings for high speed cruise and know that temperature is a manifestation of engine health, not a power setting. In the absence of a compelling reason to do otherwise, always get a 28 volt start. It is better for all systems. Introduce fuel when Ng rises above 13% per the POH. Fly Safely - Train Often DR
