Hey! In that case make sure you use as much splitters as you can and have each strand connect to one gpu. So if you have single 8 pin then connect splitter and power up gpu then use molex for riser. If you have dual 8 pin then connect splitter and power gpu then the 6+2 pin use for a riser etc. Hopefully that helps!

It all depends on how you take care of it! If you put it in a clean environment and you dust it out a couple of times a year as well as keeping it in good temperature it can then last you at least 2 years. There are people that maintain their rigs for 5 years and up so it's you and your luck with the hardware as well as how you take care of it.

hey friend, I got a question if you dont mind :P I got x8 RX 5500XT GPUs and the only problem is that I cannot use more than 1 at a time. the mining proccess works, but for the first GPU only. I can change the config to make it use the 2nd or the 3rd one as well ! but cannot do all of the GPU's together... is there any BIOS settings/general settings that I am maybe missing? important to mention that I couldn't find the "Crossfire" option on my AMD panel for some reason... appreciate your time, love your content !! would be so thankful if you can help...

The fan screws can't be screwed with the electric one we have, the power of it is not strong enough to screw them that is why it has a manual mode as well! Trust me I would've loved doing it on the electric mode 😂

That's absolutely incredible. I started mining in 2017 and have the original gpus still humming along. I have 7 zotac 1060 6gb and 1 asus 1660 6gb. My total wattage including the box fan for extra cooling is 839 watts. Total Mh is 181. The cards are not cranked up too high as the heat vs reward ratio just isn't worth to squeeze out an additional 10mh/s. I use a HP server supply and a 850w atx supply to power the mobo and 2 gpus/risers. Both are running on 240v instead of 120(higher voltage, lower current...Ohms law, and almost always more efficient). You also get the benefit of have exactly equal input voltage to both supplies regardless of spikes or dips. Which can snub out potential differences in rapid spikes or ripple that makes it through. I am in awe of 330mh@880W. Man, i thought i was efficient lmao. It's always been like that too.

Both PSUs have 6 PCIE outlets; on both PSUs I use 4 PCIE outlets to directly power 4 GPUs and 2 PCIE outlets to power 4 risers. I’m curious on how your power distributed ...did you power any of the risers with molex? or did you split one of the PCIE cables 4 ways? Buying 7 ETH is a one time thing. Buying hardware that will bring you ETH is a long term investment. Financially investing in hardware is better and more secure. You have the crypto asset and the hardware that you can sell later on for at least 50% of your initial investment!

Hey! Thank you!! Unfortunately the 12V RGB cables dont plug on the motherboard :( I got one that plugs to SATA so I didnt have to use a 4-5 pin to Motherboard. EZDIY fans the one we got usually have a 12v SATA controller!

There is 2 connection needed to be done, in order for the fans to work : RGB(to control the lights of the fans) and the PSU connection. So for the PSU i agree its the sata connection but since there is no pins for RGB on that motherboard, you use a other sata connector to control the RGB for the fans ? I looked on amazon for the EZDIY(EZDIY-FAB 120mm ) model and i see a sata connection to the PSU for the power but still use RBG to connect to pins on motherboards...perhaps if you can provide me the exact model, i might have looked to the wrong one or misunderstood something.

That RGB connector is most likely for Sync. I think the best options for budget will be the rx 580s since they are cheap. Starting with a 6x rx 580 rig is good but it is not future proof. Id wait for the new gpus to come out then seeing what numbers we can find there!

That's great! I honestly recommend not buying the 590s unless you have got them for a good deal or if it's too late because there are new GPUs coming out in a week. And then for a powersupply not quite sure how much the 590s draw but I believe 1200watts or 1300 watts will be good!

Did you get this sorted out? Just did a video with my pulse 1 card test idle draw on my system is 17w with the card its 35w thats 18w a card just from fans which adds 108 watts to your system at 6 cards. I am getting same numbers as you at 158w total system with 1 card which puts it at 948w with 6 cards which is only 8w more then what you are getting now. So am thinking the extra watts is from the cards fans using power when ramped up for cooling.

That can for sure be the reason, maxing out the fans will add more watt usage although now my rig averages 880 watts off the wall with fan speed at 60% and a 780 mv undervolt

In the last two weeks I have constant crashes on my Powercolor Red Devil RX 5700 modded to XT version. It says that I have driver issues and wattman warning sometimes. :-( other card i have is XFX RX6800 XT and it works perfect. my settings are 1400 core clock, 800 voltage and 1800 video memory clock. I tried various versions of drivers and again same problem. I did stress test in AMD Radeon software and both cards passed it. Does anyone know what could be a problem? I am desperate!

I really don't see the point of inventing in mining. Don't get me wrong I think building this type of rig would be fun. It really doesn't make sense in terms of an investment to make money. So 3K up front investment and it will take 6 months for an ROI? Why not just buy 3k of ETH or BTC if you bought 3K back in march you would have close to 30K in BTC today. Is their something I missing here?

So the difference is your investing in hardware, with the hardware it generates for you income in a way so it keeps your risks very minimal. If you buy 3K worth of BTC then you have X amount of BTC. Unless you plan on trading it, you will always have X amount of BTC. With mining, you continuously get X amount of whatever crypto you mine. Then you have the hardware to sell too. For example all those GPUs I got for around $400, I can sell them now for double their price and make more money over the mining income they made for me which already paid off the rig. So it's just safer, and whether the market goes up or down you still make money. If you invest only in crypto, the market goes down you lose value

I am building this rig right now. Sadly I ordered 4 of the msi radeon 5700 xt mech os. I got them in the mail and they where manufactured in Tailand. I got them at a decent price so it is what it is. I just will keep them around 55 mhs until I get a feel for them. Can I make a 8 gpu version with two 850w gold power supplies?

Nice! It is okay as long as you can provide nice cooling for them, a box fan does a great job. Our next build is actually exactly that ;) 8x 5700 XT with 2x 850 Watts PSU ! So you will be all good
