Think it’s an amazing contrast that the Gundam went from a merciless stalker hunting the Zeon troops to a desperate protector when its ally was being hunted by both mobile suits the animation really shows the desperation and urgency in the pilot to cover the GM

Also interesting that the kid never goes out of his way to harm helpless Zeon troops standing on the ground, just those in mobile suits. He has too many chances of slaughtering Zeon people (recycling facility, or when Solari’s gang jumps out of the Zaku tank after it is destroyed by the Gundam, and are confronted by the Gundam after.

The thing is meant to replicate human actions via the inputs (i still think their controls are dumb i wished it was more like patlabor) so it will move human like since its modeled after one. If yours peaking of the of how they moved in the anime, if you minused the pauses between their attacks, they still moved very human. I think is you mean by the like of pauses and constant movement, I kinda get that but I seethe way it moves here more akin to an exoskeleton which kinda makes more sense with the anatomical shape.

I know it suppose to mimic human actions since it's humanoid, I'm just saying that it's exactly because of it's sticks-and-levers control scheme that the movements should look somewhat more stiff and "pre-animated" since certain actions should be tied to certain buttons. The human-like movements only works when it's like Patlabor like you said, or if the pilot is extremely good with the control and the piloting is somewhat AI assisted. I despise it when mecha behave like giant humans in metal suits when the control scheme is clearly levers and buttons, the Gundam Dynasty series's cutscenes irk me alot due to this.

I feel like the reason it works here instead is that you can see the differences. When you look at the zaku you can tell that is a older mobile suit. Its slower, less mobility and you can even see the pilots struggle getting up when it is down. In contrast you can see that the RX-78 is better. Its faster more agile and has better weapons. It still feels grounded in combination of the zaku and the RX-78.

I’m so happy this show delivered! After watching it, it honestly completely changed my mind about the MS designs. You can tell the passion that went into it, when the mobile suits move, how their weapons sound, the lighting, and especially making the Gundam as scary as I always thought it would be irl!

This series has definitely won me over after seeing these designs in motion lmao, just the right amount of heft in most scenes save for the Gundam going full ballistic in some of them. It just sucks that the quality of the already miniscule plot and the human characters had to suffer for it though.

The RX-78 ( G) E Gundam is much different than the RX-78-2 Gundam, the original White Devil in anime because it does not have the familiar white, yellow, blue, and red color patterns like the one Amuro Ray pilots. That thing always stands out in the Gundam franchise!

Two things I'm taking away from this: 1: Holy damn they actually made mobile suits, especially the base red-shirt GM absolutely TANKY. The amount of damage that thing took and didn't spontaneously explode really did a good job showing how much of a beating a MS can take vs conventional heavy weaponry, and why shifting to MS was the next step in military combat. 2: We need a HG, RG, and/or MG of the new Gouf Custom ASAP. That thing is a mechanical work of art. If Bandai doesn't come out with at least an HG/RG, I want to see some kind of resin conversion kit for the Gouf 2.0 frame to make it. It would be a crime not to have this version of the Gouf Custom as a model kit.

Like if they repel each other, shouldn't the axe cut the energy sword in half to the part where they touch due to the Axe repel the sword energy so it can't fully extend. But due to the energy projecting from the handle is being block, the enegy would exert itself around the part of the clash till it spread and hit the non repeling side of the axe and then burn through the axe It's like spraying waters at a pillar, where the pillars will block the water but the left and right side doesn't.

It doesn’t make sense. The EM filed only stops the beam at the contact point which is the top edge of the axe, the beam from the saber would be stopped there but as it continues moving downward as soon as the beam reach the bare metal part of the axe, it will cut though it like usual. I mean, this is not like a clash between two solid metal swords this is energy vs solid metal so it won’t just stop each other in the air like that.

This movie is sh** because the gouf style Zakus are supposed to be on par with the Gundams. There was a reason Why in o8th MS team Norris Packard went up against Shiro Norris was able to throw down and give Shiro a run for his money. The Gundams and GM's were never that powerful as they mainly relied on there agility and technology and not armor. P.S. In o8th MS team the only reason Shiro beat Norris was because Norris's primary objective was to take out the gun tanks and not take on the Gundams and GM's due to him being super low on ammo.

@@kibayaiba3893 地球連邦政府は宇宙移民をしたんだけど、各コロニーの政策を担う市長を連邦政府が決めてた。つまり、選挙が無かった。次に、宇宙移民。大半の人間は宇宙に上がったけど連邦政府の高官は地球に残った。だからスペースノイドは自分達は棄民なんだと感じられた。参政権はない、やりたい事も制限されている。これにスペースノイドは多少不満があった。サイド3のジオンズムダイクンはこれを変えようとニュータイプ論を展開した。ジオンの支持者が増えてデモが起きるようになった。連邦政府は軍を以てこれを弾圧した。

nit picking...Gouf custom's shield gatling shouldn't be that weak. even it shoots the ground can create a smoke screen.

The Gundam's pilot has some of the worst target prioritization/object permanence. Like, 'oh that Zaku ran behind a pile of scrap with all of its armaments? Hmm, better turn my back to it to let it get some pot shots off before I re-engage'. Also, I definitely feel like the Gundam landing full force on top of the Zaku should've disabled it or at least crushed its head.
