Rx7 LS7 Swap goes to the Dyno (Lsx swap)

Bryan takes the Mazda Rx7 with a LS7 V8 to the dyno to see what it will put down. The lsx based engine puts down high 400's at the wheels on an almost stock setup. The Rx-7 used to have an Ls1 swap with a T56, but we upgraded it to the LS7 a few years ago. We wanted to know what it would put down in an almost stock configuration

I assume it has long tube headers? Add a camshaft and that will pick up an easy 40-50rwhp.... My stock LS7 with a 243/256 .650" cam, headers, stock LS7 intake/TB made 522rwhp/472rwtq I believe in an FD. If you need a T56 Magnum F style I'm a Tremec dealer... in stock ready to ship.

Yes we know how to weld, the headers are full custom. Ti exhaust with a vibrant muffler. Yes with a cam it will pick up big power just haven't had the urge to do it yet. Sounds like yours is super healthy though!

Rx7 should be Rotary RX7 = Rotary eXperimental #7

Bunta, you should bring out your STI and surprise takumi when he can't keep up. We do love rotaries as well, 20b swap will happen if this LS dies.

@@CarGuyFridays The LS will never die that's why everyone swaps so they don't stay broke down on the side of the road. mine has 69K miles on it swapped at 65 can drive it anywhere and outrun crotch Rockets at the same time doesn't get better than that, oh wait it does because even my AC/ Heat and factory Mazda cruise control still work!

@@dannywilliams116 This car also has working A/C! We don't hate the rotary, but we do hate how purists insist on telling us we ruined the soul of the vehicle over and over while we've been in the Rx7 scene since 2005, which is longer than most of them.
