Out of curiosity, how far does that intake manifold set down below the hood? I have an 81 Z28 that I am an LS2 built for and can’t decide rather to go with a Fast LSXR intake or the taller LSXHR. I know the LSXHR wont fix under a stock hood and I’m not even sure it would fit under a cowl hood.
@CarGuyFridays

It's pretty far below the hood line. You could certainly go taller. How much taller I'm not sure off hand.

@@CarGuyFridays it is a bit bigger than the 6 speed and 8 speed. I had to cut the transmission tunnel out and install a prefabricated 2 inch raised transmission tunnel but now it fits in there nicely

For the stock y pipe what gasket do you recommend cause the circles I guess won’t fit and the flat one that came with it is ass and blew out 2 miles down the road and now sounds like a lawn mower. 😐

Oh no! Tbh it's been so long I don't remember which gasket we used. You can normally get new gaskets at your local auto parts store. I do vagelu remember the ones that came with it being questionable though.

Is it possible to duplicate the layout/setup of the exhaust to mimic a corvettes? Or is single really the only way to go?
@CarGuyFridays
@CarGuyFridays 2 ай бұрын
Corvette has a very unique muffler layout. I don't believe you can replicate a corvettes setup. You can do a dual exhaust setup though. At one point I had that. It's much heavier to have 2 exhaust systems so I went single.

I love the Suzuki Alto and the Honda Today, and it´s a shame they are not around but i understand because of the safety and whatnot nowadays. Love my Volvo s60, but this would be enough really when i think about it with the driving i do around town, and it would´ve been perfect. It´s so cool i just sat here with a big grin watching this little car!

Back in 2002 after graduating from college, I had a choice to go with a 2002 RSX Type S or a 1998 Eclipse GSX for $18K used with 34k miles. I would have loved the RSX more, but I was more of a turbo car guy. Had ton of fun in it until I traded for a brand new 2005 STi with the turbo boost gauge in the center of the dash board.

What are you spraying on the intercooler
@CarGuyFridays
@CarGuyFridays 7 ай бұрын
Compressed air to cool it down. The intercooler doesn't get nearly the airflow on the dyno as it gets while driving so it can get heat soaked easier and mess up tuning since you'd never get such hot air if the car were moving under boost

How much ground clearance did you end up with for the transmission?

It was super low. I ended up swapping another trans pan on from, I believe it was a g8, and now it's nearly even with the oil pan. I don't remember the exact height, although realistically that'll be relative to ride height too. I figured same height as oil pan was about the best I could ask for

It lasted indefinitely in terms of holding on there. We had issues with the crank trigger sensor reliably picking up though since it still wobbled a bit. It stayed on the car another maybe 12-16months and even took a few roadtrips since the crank trigger was fine and reliable below about 6000 rpms.

I'm curious with the 2867 if an extrude hone on the manifold and turbine housing would show any benefit. I know in the SR world you do that to a 2871 if you're seeking 400.
