I have an video idea i personally would love to see: how to treat 12A 13B rotary to make sure its stays health for as long as possible? No porting just stock engines... There are so many diffrent opinions its hard to get the exact idea whats best for those engines. Is mineral 2T good for premix in 12A?

Depending on how many mile it has on it, apex seals start to need replacement after a while.

Yea, I didn't realize until I had edited it. Really was focused on making sure the car wasnt coming apart haha. But yes, it needs to be a higher priority

Whats the ecu and exhaust setup on this car? Sounds nice but I know you can't swap midpipe and downpipe without tuning.
@RADPotential2 жыл бұрын
Stock ecu, racing beat exhaust. Has a catless down pipe and straight midpipe.

One time i drained coolant from the block, filled up the radiator and then test drove and the needle went uuup. And i hear all the air steam coming out. I didnt get very far tho I forgot to fill the block😅

Thought the first bang was something breaking, but it was a backfire I'm guessing
@RADPotential2 жыл бұрын
Backfire. If you get a good quick shift they will do that. My rx8 does it as well

@@RADPotential my bone stock 2009 will even make little backfire poofs sometimes. Amuses me because I'm not even trying to be a pops and bangs boi.

Water pump flow to push that thermostat open??? Lol! Negative ghost rider. It's not the water force/pressure that opens the thermostat. Thermostats open due to the rated heat on the springs. The springs simply retract based on its rated temp and pulls the hat down. If there is no water on the spring, the thermostat cant open unless the air gets really hot.
@RADPotential2 жыл бұрын
Yea I understand the spring. But the fact that barely any water is moving, isn't going to help the thermostat open. Especially if there is any air in the system.

@@RADPotential Yep definitely sounds laggy. You should be getting 10psi on the primary turbo at 2,300-2,400rpm. A properly running twin set up is VERY torquey down low. You may need to test each and every solenoid on the rats nest plus the manual operation of all the check valves and actuators if the owner approves that diag.

Yea, I am thinking that it will be fine like it is for what he wants to use it for. If he wants to start pushing more boost at low RPM, it may be beneficial to switch to a PFC at the same time. The car isn't really a "hot rod" for him
@RADPotential2 жыл бұрын
Your comment above has me thinking about how I can make a test waterpump and monitor pressures to see the effect if any on a thermostats effective opening time
@rotaryperfection2 жыл бұрын
@@RADPotential But if he has properly operating simplified sequential running 10psi, then you don't need an aftermarket ecu. There's this old saying about the 3 mod rule on FD's. Well that's actually false as long as you can keep the main boost at 10psi. Full exhaust and no cat is what REALLY causes major boost spikes. Boost spikes is how you kill a stock car. Can't believe he doesn't have a boost gauge with those current mods. That was the 1st thing I put on my FD as when I bought mine back in 2003. His car isn't running correctly regardless how he drives it but if he wants to get the primary turbo online, the factory ecu will handel it no problem. Pattern should be 10-8-10. If its spiking above 10psi even as it sits, then its dangerous regardless how soon the primary kicks in. Owner doesn't understand the performance he's loosing but I get it.
