​@@jamess.2491 Guilleman is one of the few sane and reasonable beings in the entire Imperium, but his attachment to Order will always hold him back; he'd never consider that sometimes you have to break the rules in order to achieve an important goal. I doubt any other single individual could do things better (Big E included, since a lot of the current problems are the result of his own mistakes and stubbornness), but certainly unscrewing the screwed status of the Imperium will require solutions that Guilleman would never even consider, not even if El'Jonson suggested them. Like cutting some sort of deal with the Eldar, the Tau, and even the Nekrons to deal with the truly anathematic foes (Tyranids, Orks, and at least Khorne and Slaanesh if not the entirety of Chaos, much as it pains me to say it). They can figure out what to do about each other AFTER the overwhelming unstoppable hordes of pure senseless destruction have been dealt with...but that would be heresy slash against tradition slash not sufficiently Greater Good, so none of them will ever think of trying it, and the whole story will end with Tyranids eating everything because they're the only faction that actually has everything they need to accomplish the goal they're committed to.

With an alliance humanity could deal with the Orks easily, Tyrannids would be a very hard but doable task and that just leaves Chaos. Which i imagine to be a very tricky thing since it thrives off of violence and war and all the emotions that come with it.

On the flip side, there are also lots of planets - millions of them, that haven’t been caught up in the war that’s been raging for over 10,000 years. They are not even aware of it because of the vast distances. The first they hear about it, will be a large ship entering their atmosphere and within seconds most of society is either dead, enslaved, forced to sign up to fight against other civilisations, turned into a biological mass of jelly and forced to merge into an insect like alien hive, or sent off world to be used in the most horrific ways possible

Me and my bro just got into this game and its lore! The game so far is fantastic and the campaign just goes ballistic! We’re diving head first on the angel of death difficulty(the highest difficulty) and in my opinion makes the game even more worth it and completing each level more satisfying. A must have!

If you really want a solid slightly painless 40k education... start with Book 1 by Dan Abnett called Horus Rising... I am almost finished with The End and the Death Volume III Grim Dark, SciFi Fantasy, horror, humor(Space Wolves)War, on land, in the void, an epic shit ton of War.. oh yeah, and the galaxy is in flames🔥 the story, setting, a list of Dramatis Personae puts GRR Martin to shame 😮throughout 89 novels/novellas, plus a legions worth of supplemental (high quality) audiobooks, short stories, the art😊 I didnt know who or what GW was about, Warhammer , The Black Library, 30k, 40k.. i read Brothers of the Snake, great "what the hell is a Space Marine", read the first 3 books in the Gaunts Ghosts series.. i wanted more.. and sure enough, Book 1 Horus Rising.. one of my favorite quotes among many, in the End, so eloquently says so much about who & what the future holds with two words.. "shields up"

There are no good guys. There are bad guys, worse guys, even worse guys, the Dark Eldar, and the non-Dark Eldar who are "not bad", but I wouldn't even lift them up to the level of "neutral", let alone good. Imperium are "bad guys", just not THAT bad by comparison. And, to quote Mangg the Explorer, "People enjoy an underdog story". We root for the Imperium not because they're heroic, but simply because they're relatable (at least if you're a dude - note that while virtually every person visible in this particular video is white, the human race overall is effectively post-racial, as there hasn't been an Africa or Europe or Asia for at least ten millenia, probably closer to twenty; humanity has gone out into the stars, and all the races have intermixed as much as they possibly could, so skin color is just another mark of individuality, and the Imperium tends not to encourage those).

The figure in power armor at 5:11 or so (who gets her helmet knocked off in another second or two) is not a Marine, she's a Sister of Battle (meaning she's a purely human woman in a scaled-down version of SM-style power armor, with no geneseed implants like the all-male Marines get). There are some Blood Angels I think at 11:58, but the figure at 11:37 isn't even human, she's an Eldar in wraithbone armor. Eldar, unlike humans, have very little sexual dimorphism, so their warriors are pretty much interchangeably male or female in equal numbers, but the overwhelming majority of Imperium troops are males, with Sisters being one of the very few exceptions (and frankly it's unlikely they could survive if they didn't have literally miraculous powers derived from their faith in The Emprah, which they refuse to admit are functionally no different from psyker powers or chaos magic, both of which make it possible to bypass the physical demands which otherwise make it vastly unlikely a woman could endure combat, even under far less apocalyptic conditions than the 40K universe).
