1:31 I’m surprised there’s NOT a stunt Oscar. Without stunts, film would be nothing. From the very beginning… it was stunts that made people want to watch actors on film. From nickelodeons to silent films, then the talkies. Stunts made it all come to life for the audience.

I worked on a small disney film back in the late 1990s and the stunt dude was NOT a hollywood pro. I had to re-rig a rappel for the primary actor because of how dangerously it had been set up. Luckily someone who knew how to do this was on set, for an entirely different random reason. The pro stunt folk deserve every award that exists.

Tom Cruise absolutely does not deserve an Oscar for stunts! That's ludicrous. I actually hate that he does his own stunts because it puts the entire project in jeopardy and takes jobs away from stunt professionals. But the Oscar for Stunts question is problematic because for decades these talented people have been "hidden" in the background not receiving recognition for their work, so sadly most people (actors included) don't know their names. Amy Johnston - For Scarlett Johansson in Winter Soldier, etc. Chris Brewster - Daredevil, Winter Soldier, etc. Gui DaSilva-Greene - Daredevil, Winter Soldier, for Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, etc. Eric Linden - Roadhouse and stunt coordinator for some of the biggest movies in Hollywood Lauren Mary Kim - Elektra double in Daredevil, The Mandalorian, Clone Wars Season 7, Furious 7, The Last of Us 2, Mortal Kombat 11 Cassandra Ebner - Game of Thrones, Shazam, Flash, The Heroes
