Incredible episode. People need to stop skipping over episodes that don't have that HUGE name because you think it will be boring. My rule with these pods is, get at least 15 minutes in and see if it hits you by that point. I got there and then just kept going.

Ryan is dropping so many gems in this podcast. I suffer from mental illness mainly bipolar + self-harming behavior, and learning disabilities. On top of all that, I'm homeless. But like Ryan said, wake up with a purpose. And that's exactly what I do, even if it means just making it through the day in one piece. I hope everyone out there takes some positive stuff from Ryan's story.

I'm glad Ryan Leaf is alive to tell this story. Addiction is a vicious cycle that hurts you & the closest ones to you. Hope someone takes the time out to watch this and learn from Ryan Leaf. Matt Barnes & Stephen Jackson did a great job conducting this interview.

Lifelong wazzu fan. Was a freshman when Ryan took us to the Rose bowl. Watched my pops shed a tear when we beat UDub in the Apple Cup (thank you Chris Jackson, Leaf, the whole fab and fat five). Watched Leaf through it all. Never been more proud of him than we are today. Stay the course my friend. Wazzu always has your back brother. Can’t wait to see the doc.

I'm from the Caribbean and I try to listen to sports content that is outside what I grew up play, so NFL content can be a bit of a stretch to absorb but I find myself glued because this dude is so sincere and I'm getting emotional and then the man's manscape ad comes on and now instead of tears and on the floor laughing. Those ads are so hilarious 😂

Love seeing Ryan build himself to be the person he is today! He was so young, back then; we all would have thought we were the shit too and not had the mental capacity to deal with our "bad days". Anywhere this guy speaks, just to hear his story and to have seen some of what he went through, I hope young people can listen and take some guidance from him! Bravo! Amazing conversation and epi!

@mikey-domagala2 жыл бұрын
F A C T S! I believe the NBA does have role models like that, but, the NFL? Not sure. Right now it seems like more NFL players go down a bad road than NBA players. Could be how Adam Silver treats his players or because there’s way less players. Not sure.

When I was a kid in San Diego I went to Chargers training camp when they practiced at UCSD and HAD TO GET Ryan's autograph his rookie year. Ended up losing that football in the 2003 Cedar Fire when it burned our house down. For years I said it was one of the things I was happy that burned, but I gotta give it to Ryan for turning his life around. People can learn a lot from his story.
