I think its cool that Ryan can compete at such a high level, but still makes time to make video's for those of us just getting into the sport.

No need for anything better
@andrelafond74745 жыл бұрын
Owen Harper the mychron 5 actually offers much more data acquisition. You can use the gps to track your speed through turns and find time. Almost everyone runs them at National races so I was curious.

Andre Lafond mychron 4 uses gps and when your racing you want to know the kart temp, revs from the mychron

Hi Ryan. Great video man. Why do you lean forward before the straight?

Trying to get every advantage possible
@henryhardachre96033 жыл бұрын
By ducking down you reduce wind resistance on the high speed straights sitting back up just before you brake helps with braking by adding the resistance back. The taller you are the more advantage it gives.
@NorbergNation3 жыл бұрын
@@henryhardachre9603 it helps get weight off the rear axle. I believe it helps the engine but I have no evidence of this. Hahah

I see you do allot of tucking in the beginning to mid way through the straights. You guys seeing noticeable gains from that quick 1-2sec tuck?

Looks like things are done different in the USA. That has to be the slowest rolling start I've ever seen for Karts and the curb hopping, do you replace your chassis after every race ???? B^) This is a video of one of my favorite tracks in Queensland. Cooloola Coast Kart Club in Gympie. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHvZaaJjeq9mpaM" sorry about the shaky video, cheap camera now replaced with a GoPro8. 1st lap is warm up, second lap is Form Up, You can see the start speed on the HUD on the video. Of course the speed is indicated in KPH. 60KPH is approx 35MPH. The first corner is a ripper, uphill approach, off camber, double apex with uphill exit. Class I ran here was TAG 125 restricted Heavy. I'm running an X30. The restrictor knocks off about 8 to 10 horse power. Heavy class, driver and kart together must weigh a minimum of 180KG's. I've watched a few of your videos but this is the first racing one. Must say I like your instructional videos, very well done.
@henryhardachre96033 жыл бұрын
Also of interest is 3 digit numbers which are illegal in Australia. No track here has a density of 100 so there is no point having 3 digits. Also a zero in front of a number is illegal.
@NorbergNation3 жыл бұрын
@@henryhardachre9603 I like starting races really slow that’s why the start is that slow. Most starts are at 30 mph. Most tracks aren’t that rough either. It’s just this one. Really cool track in your video!
@henryhardachre96033 жыл бұрын
@@NorbergNation I really like CCKC's track no part of it is flat. Looking forward to filming with the GoPro 8, the old camera really sucked. I've moved since that video so I'm not sure when I'll film CCKC again. Also I run Open class now, no restrictor, getting the full 32 HP now ! I've pulled 115KPH on the Emerald track. I think that's about 72MPH
