Few questions,. Can you transfer from RDF TO PDF as the age limit for RDF Is older when enlisting? Can you be deployed if you want to? Cheers

Hey, Im 16 and when I'm 18 I'm going to join the rdf, I was looking on the website of the irish defence forces and wanting to ask if you can go from the rdf to the pdf after a certain period in the rdf?

They wear the black beret but don’t earn it like a proper trained soldier does. The only reason they got issued the black beret is to save money so the pdf don’t need to spend money on the green beret money saving one color saves money.
