With regards to the whole, "we're in Hell" issue, I think one of the most interesting aspects of Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel is that, for the hellborn, they've done nothing to deserve being in Hell. Heck, in the case of Charlie, she's literally in Hell because of the sins of her parents. This creates a scenario where there's no reason for hellborn to necessarily be evil, but because of where they live, and with the rings all representing one of the deadly sins, they are more likely to take on these traits.

My thoughts exactly...there's no law or rule saying that Hellborn beings should be evil. Therefore; characters like Blitz, Alastor, Stella, Vox and Velvette have no reason to behave the way the do

Hellborns do have reason to behave the way they do: *THEIR ENVIRONMENT.* Charlie was raised by loving parents with slightly hidden emotional baggage so it's only natural she churns out good. Imps like Blitz grew up in shitty environments with even shittier people around them as well as being constantly made aware of their status on the social hierarchy. It's not hard to imagine they grew up the way they have due to this.

He grew up partially with a loving mother, parted ways with her due to his father, found love in Chaz, got abandoned during a heist, and THEN got picked up by Blitz and found his new wife along the way. He's not as much of an asshole due to how he had good experiences in his life that showed him good in the world and just how quickly it could be snuffed out aswell. He has soft spots for caring families and happy couples, because he had a caring family member and is in a happy relationship. That's why.

"i don't think you meant to hurt me cause i don't think it meant a thing at all" this line cuts straight to the core of blitz's problem. he doesn't know how to form or maintain a serious relationship due to a self hatred that causes him to believe he doesn't deserve happiness, makes him apathetic, and ultimately hurts himself and the people around him. it's not an excuse for his actions but it is a reason. amazing episode, the music is solid, pacing is good, the writing is decent, and they didn't instantly resolve the issue while taking a step forward, probably the best episode of the show by far

Also, I agree with the whole "sober people making out with drunk people" sentiment near the end there. Definitely felt sort of r@pey having to watch that, considering drunk people really aren't in the right headspace to be able to consent. In fact, I don't think ANYONE in such a vulnerable state should be taken advantage of like that, whether drunk or NOT.

The question is... WAS the Incubus who was hitting on Stolas actually sober? He may very well have been drunk as well. Some people drop their barriers and open up to others far easier when drunk.

@k1productions87 Good point, but then again, drunkeness leads to slurred speech, doesn't it? If the Incubus guy WAS drunk, then how was he speaking so clearly compared to Stolas? (I'm 20 years old and was raised well, so I've obviously never been drunk, but I've also never heard a drunk person speak like they were sober.)

Yeah it's big L of this episode. Really wish she cut that part out or did it differently because otherwise this was a perfect episode. All they had to do was not kiss and certainly not have Verosika pushing for it.

That's very true. I've met people who don't sound drunk at all but still drunk but that's not as common. Though from a writing stand point and voice acting standpoint having him act normal makes it very much seem he's not drunk.

Just a thing: Vortex does not "hate" Blitzø, he sang and acted like that just because Verosika payed to. That's why Vortex seems to "hate" Blirzø here, but he actually doesn't care that much about it, he is in it for the money.

This episode shows that relationships are not as they seem in normal Hallmark rom-coms. They sometimes explode and cannot be fixed with some nice words the very next day. It might take months or even years for a relationship to mend and it might not be the same as before.

If I were to imagine it probably has to do with the difference in how they perceive the relationship because Stolas thought that they were on equal footing him calling blitz “my impish little play thing” wasn’t done from a place of malice he’s just very unaware now that being said it doesn’t excuse what he does but it at least helps with his thoughts (sorry for bad grammar I have dyslexia)

No, I think he’s just ignorant. He seems to have gotten pretty much all of his education on romance and intimacy from media, which is inherently unrealistic and exaggerated. He probably genuinely believed the things he said were playful, but didn’t understand that for an imp who has heard similar things on a constant basis in much more hostile and condescending ways, it would sound completely different. Meaning Stolas owes Blitzø an apology as well, of course. He might not have intended to hurt him, but he did.

@@livedeadman I don't think Tex actually hates Blitz, if you remember what he said to Loona in S1 ep3: "Her beef ain't mine. I don't get paid enough to care." I'm guessing Verosika made it part of his job for the night to be on stage alongside her and because she's his boss it's not like he has much of a choice. Tex's hateful glares towards Blitz was most likely part of his performance. At least that's what I think.

Your whole panic with the idea of them making up halfway through was literally me, I want them to stay far away from each other. Anyone who has seen the trailer for the back half of season 2 knows what Blitzo/Stolas scene hasn't come yet, and realism is going to get shattered by the end, damning our "happy" ending...

Bee doesn't really have a reason to show up at the "We Hate Blitzø" party. Blitzø didn't do a whole lot to crash Bee's party, at worst he was making her worried because his antics were due to him self-destructing rather than just indulging himself. I imagine that Vortex doesn't dislike Blitzø enough to really earn an invite either. He's there because he's Verosika's bodyguard. There's an extra layer to Blitzø's "of course I'm shitty, we live in Hell" argument, and that's the fact that, barring I.M.P.'s clients, everyone they interact with is a Hellborn demon. They're not people who were sent to Hell because they're dicks. I feel like he doesn't even really believe that, it's just a convenient excuse so he can avoid tackling a lifetime of intense self-hatred. _Really_ worried that this mystery incubus is going to end up being a total scumbag who's just acting nice to take advantage of Stolas' situation.

I don't see that becoming the storyline going forward. Worst I can see is, the Incubus was also drunk (and some let down their shields when intoxicated), and come the next morning he will want to leave. Now, this will either break Stolas up more, or perhaps the Incubus will recognize that Blitzø is the one Stolas truly loves. Stolas may even call out Blitzøs name during sexytime, mkaing this fact more apparent. Or maybe in the end the Incubus and Stolas actually hit it off and become a thing, and Blitzø fights (himself) to get Stolas back. Or maybe, just maybe, we get a happy not-happy ending where Blitzø has to actually fully let go of Stolas entirely. I would also like if he and Verosika actually properly reconcile, but in a friendly way. Like, they don't get back together or anything, but she becomes his wing-woman :P After all, she does help herself by helping others deal with their heartbreak and hatred of Blitzø,... and who hates Blitzø more than Blitzø? :P Any excuse to see more Verosika. I love her to death

you know i really i don't see what Midnight was freaking out about on this episoded Blitz and Stolas are finally ending and moving on from their toxic relationship Stolas is finding new love (and may even learn that he is in to women as well after all we can but hope) and Blitz is gonna try to fix himself and we even see Verosika throw a decent could be "Stolas after death party" i mean everyone is there having a good time cutting out a cake in the likeness of Stolas (Blitz in Verosika's version) all the party things are proper themed and all Verosika IS technically missing the themed party hats but most demons at her party are already imps so i will let that one slide we even got a few folks crying at the party representing the Stolas fans like Midnight who went to the party to mourn Stolas's death frankly just a perfect episode all around HAZA for Blitz and Stolas moving on
