I'm from a small town in Indiana (USA) but watching the documentary I've really fallen in love with the Wrexham community and spirit. I am rooting so hard for your team and am excited to learn more about football. So I'm really happy to hear positive reviews from the Wrexham community and hear they really are making a difference!

@@kjklea1 Unlike some that have bought premiership clubs, Rob and Ryan have been awesome from start to present, they have been open and transparent from the off and away from the TV show, i have been lucky enough to watch everything unfold on a local level, for 2 Hollywood A listers to open themselves up to our town and community the way they have, is nothing short of remarkable, they come here with no fanfare or entourage, just them like they are normal everyday joes, madness really, although we have had Will Farrel and David Beckham at some of the games so not totally normal guys lol, they have embraced our community and the good they are doing not just for the club and town but the county (our version of a state I guess ?) as whole has been amazing, btw love Indiana jealous much.

@@youtubeuserandchef471 Rob saw a real chance at the way things are now in English football, top heavy billion dollar clubs in the premier league, where a small but well supported team down at the bottom could theoretically make it to the Premier league and be worth hundreds of millions. Ryan only gets involved in businesses where he can "do good" while making money. That was solved when they both decided if they failed, they would simply let the community buy the club back from them. But with all the incredible PR, the club is worth more than 3 million they paid for it, and they might even already have a profit with the series. Even if they only make it to the second division of football, the club will be worth a lot of money.

Oh, I don't know. I lived there when I went to college for a year around '94. Back then it was a busy town with few, if any, empty stores. Seen clips of it now and it isn't the same place. But it's happened everywhere in the last 30 years. Holyhead and Bangor both had thriving town centres when I was growing up but the introduction of out of town shopping areas hit them badly ... and then came the internet, eBay and Amazon to put the last nails in their coffins.

Absolutely. Being from the other end of North Wales with no professional clubs nearby, Wrexham were always my second team after Manchester United. The owners of these two clubs couldn't be more different. Wrexham could end up in the 9th tier and the fans would probably back Rob'n'Ryan purely because of the respect shown to them. You're wrong mate, they are not as passionate as any Premier League supporter. They are 10 times more so. Anyone can jump on a gravy train of glory, it takes passion, dedication, love, belonging, and a host of other qualities needed to support a "small" team. I was born in Newcastle, I can't support anyone else, but being part of the Toon Army is relatively easier because we're nuts. I genuinely don't care when people say we haven't won things, when I get peeved is hearing we have no history. We bloody well do. Wrexham is full of history, full of Welsh fire, and passion. Good luck to them all. My mate, born and bred in Wolverhampton (he calls it the capital of Europe), will tell you all about the history, and passion of Wolves. Remember your first away game in the 4th tier, think it was against Scarborough (not going to cheat by looking it up, so correct me if I'm wrong), the passion of those fans to keep going, a million miles away from the Premier League. 10 times their worth.

Rugby 🏉 fans took the other route and dropped the word football and just called it Rugby. Gridiron (American) football 🏈 actually did use their feet to advance the ball forward from 1869-1906. The University of Oxford, in England coined the term "soccer", it is a British term that of course was adopted here in the U.S. So when Brits complain that Americans call it soccer, just keep in mind, it came from England as that was the nickname for the sport IN ENGLAND. "Linguistically creative students at the University of Oxford in the 1880s distinguished between the sports of “rugger” (rugby football) and “assoccer” (association football). The latter term was further shortened to “soccer” (sometimes spelled “socker”), and the name quickly spread beyond the campus."

Yup! And sadly every American 🏈 football team feels the NEED to spend a gazillion dollars on a modern day stadium only to have a horrible team. Chicago Bears want to move out of Soldier Field but they have yet proven to their fan base that they are worthy of a brand new stadium. If they can't win games, what's the point in constantly investing and over charging the fans. It's pathetic. They deserve shite.

@@matthewpearce8481 Not really. I started following Bayern in 99. Its common for norwegians to have a domestic and a foreign team, because our league is shit. So everyone loved united at that time because of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, but I saw that final and found bayern the better team even though they lost. Being the contrarian cunt I aspire to be I chose to go the other way and follow bayern.

The reason we call American Football "football": "Football" is actually a broad category of sports that all involve players moving a ball to an opposing side to score in a scoring area. They all involve kicking on some level and are all played with the body being the contact point with the ball (instead of a stick or bat). American Football, sometimes called "Gridiron", is a product of America's universities, specifically the Ivy League (which, at the time, simply referred to an athletic conference). In the mid-late 1800s, the schools in the Ivy League would regularly play against eachother in football matches, but each school had its own rules. Some were derived from Association Football (Which the British called "Soccer", hence why we Americans still call it that) and some were derived from Rugby Union Football, with the players using the rules of the home team for each match (keep in mind that this was not unusual: standardized rules for sports were only just starting to become common). This was chaotic; the rules changed depending on which school you were playing at and some schools would have a hard time setting up matches if their ruleset was too different from the others. Gradually, the schools combined elements of these different rules to create a standardized ruleset that all schools would play under, essentially a hybrid of Soccer and Rugby Union. Over the years, these rules were tweaked to what we now consider American Football. Special notice should be given to Yale's Walter Camp, who introduced many of the rules that make American Football unique. So, in short, it's called "Football" because it grew out of other football sports. There are actually many types of football around the world and exactly which one gets to be called simply "Football" depends on which one is most popular in the area.
