When I was young, you could order M1 Garands from catalogs & they'd be delivered by the mailman. Would you believe that our high school had an indoor firing range where we learned about firearm safety and the elements of marksmanship? Friend- guns & ammo are harder to get now than they've ever been, yet our Nation now has more wanton violence than ever. Why? Because of the degradation of our Culture.

It is absolutely mental health. I'm a huge fan of yours, but admit I was so disappointed to see this video! The recent shooter in Maine safely and responsibly handled guns his entire life; it sounds like guns were PART OF his life as a firearms instructor and soldier. Do you honestly think he would commit such heinous acts if he were in his right mind? I respectfully agree to disagree with you, Ryan.

I agree. We have become an armed camp. However I would also say that mentally well people generally don't kill other people except in war. And aren't we all not well for letting it continue? Love to you and yours! I have faith we can do better!

I disagree. Thank God we have the right to own guns and carry them. Law abiding citizens do not kill people. Evil people do. And even if they did take away our guns, evil people would still have them! They would also have other deadly weapons. So i appreciate your opinion but it won't change mine. We need to be able to protect ourselves.

I in no way intended to undercut your argument against weapons of war being loose in our culture. I will have to let grown men and women who buy them as adult toys answer for themselves as to why they need such toys. The Constitution allows for owning a weapon to support a "state" sponsored militia not one's own militia and allows for the regulation of those weapons all in furtherance of the security of these "united" states. So if one must have these kind of weapons, why not limit their use to our military. As far as I can see, it is up to all of us to hold our legislators accountable. If they won't promote gun safety laws then we vote them out. WE have to do that! WE!

Most people buy guns for home protection but lots of militia types egged on by Ted Nugent buy Ar-15s and AK-47s. If a hunter needs more than one cartridge they're not a very good shot

I was recently on holiday in the USA from the UK. I experienced a bullet fired through my hotel bedroom window by two drunk 18 year olds! I will never go to the States again, it's not safe!!!
