Yeah, he did say that's just what they called it when he learned it. It's always interesting to learn how people have different names for the same thing. Did you learn it for sea kayaking?

Not the best place to practice rolls. When I do it there, my eyes burn after.

I don't know what to tell you; I roll there all the time. It's a great place to practice: a chill pool that's deep, your paddle won't float away, enough circulation to keep the water cycling, and at the end of a run when you're as tired as you'll be on this run.
