His very first interview on the Late Late was with a Fianna Fáil Taoiseach and he was incredibly tough on him

@@jaspjody-wb9ef let's not forget his failed attempt to ambush Peter Casey. He actually accomplished the impressive feat of gaining sympathy for Casey, which says a lot in itself. Has to be one of the worst serious political interviews ever conducted on RTE. Katie Hopkins made a fool of him too. Embarrassing stuff. What about his record the lighter stuff? The Rhys Ifans interview was the most awkward thing you're likely to see on an "entertainment" show. Gordon Ramsay was nearly as bad. And how we could we possibly forget the cringeworthy interview with Jonas Hill and Channing Tatum. It really is an absolute scandal that he has been the RTE's flagship presenter for over a decade.

The comments on this video are a good example of why Tubridy doesn't read the comments and nor should he,seems like a nice chap who's grateful about what he has and humble,and as a man on the telly he's certainly more likable then his Late Late predecessors,nice to see him being interviewed for a change,more power to him

He's an awful, presenter. Truly terrible interviewer. A waffler of the highest order. A lightweight. His Late Late legacy is a long line of abysmal, uncomfortable and heavily biased interviews. He is living in La La Land, out of touch with reality. A man-child and perfect example of someone who has been promoted way above his level of talent. He is living in utter denial and buries his head in the sand when questioned on anything from the reality of JFK, to drug use in RTE, to his salary, and his performance. His radio show is an hour of drivel that highlights a complete lack of interest in doing any research. He is paid 500.000 euros from public funds for doing a part-time gig. How is this person allowed to claim he is not an employee of RTE, but rather a contractor?

I lik ryan alot but the late late bores me t death. Sick of seeing rte staff being rolled out as "interesting" celebs and the same sports music comedic political figures over n over and dermot bannon ovr n ovr plus the sad story part every SINGLE episode. I no longer tune in.
