Hey Ryan! You know what's missing? Walkthroughs of the tracks from a racers POV. (discussion of lines, acceleration, braking) I have seen very few (if any) videos by racers. I think it would make for great content and would be very educational. Maybe even a voice over from the driver's stand during a practice run. Keep up the great content and continued success!

I'm kind of addicted to your channel. I'm fairly new to the hobby and soak up everything I can learn. Racing is interesting, but there is too much detail and it's also too expensive. Too much stuff you need. Since there is no appropriate track near where I live, I think I'll just stick with driving offroad somewhere. Anyway, I'll keep watching in case I change my mind. Thank you for your effort and the very detailed explanations. Your way of presentation is very pleasant too.

I wonder how much different SCT would drive if they used normal 2.2s or 2.8 with low-profile tires instead of the goofy 2.2/3.0 wheel. Too bad that overall properly sized tires for those examples just don't exist.

Hi Ryan, I’m thinking of getting back into RC racing in the Orlando / Central Florida area. Do you know if short course truck is still dead? Would I be better off picking up a stadium truck? Would you know where I could pickup a nice used truck and RC gear online or personally know of anyone locally selling? Thx…

@jameswiltshire27084 жыл бұрын
Awesome build man! Try raising your front ride height so that the lower arms are horizontal. That will raise your roll centre and should decrease the trucks tendency to roll in the front and then possibly negate that stiffer spring you fitted. Just an idea, would be cool to experiment anyway! Keep it up 👍🏻

My local club is mostly 4x4 short course trucks. Is there any word on updated SCT's from TLR?
@SpeedDemonExpress Жыл бұрын
I would say right off the bat from watching that short clip that, that is caused by excessive and abrupt weight transfer. Back in my time our cars were rear motor hanging out the back with you call a stand up transmission. Can't be more rear bias than that! But we could still get the cars to handle well. After you lowered the truck you noticed you needed stiffer front and softer rear. But it needed that all along. Lowering it just made it that much more noticeable. Also could be not enough rear tow in or too much toe out in front. Or too much drag brake. Too much drag brake is a killer on 2wd.

Great video Ryan. I am going to be the negative one out of all these comments. Lets be honest the lowrider kit was not the only change made. The setup on the first track was poor and not hard to see it was. The second track just had more grip. I would like to see the lowrider kit and setup from the high bite track on the first track. Bet it would not hook up. Point is a poor setup is a poor setup on both tracks regardless of upgrades. I would love to see the setups you had on both tracks. Not stock springs on the lowrider setup by any means.

lol there's always that one guy yelling at the marshals
@VestedUTuber7 ай бұрын
Back when I raced, I had a bit of a policy when it came to marshaling. If I was running to get someone's car and they yelled at me, I'd slow down to a walk. If they kept revving the throttle while I was trying to pick up the car, I would just put my hands on my hips and stare at the driver's stand until they stopped. If they hit me while I was in the process of marshaling someone else and it results in their car having to be marshaled due to the impact, I'd refuse to marshal their car and let one of the other marshals take care of it. The reason I started doing that last one is because I was often marshaling for 1/8th scale truggies since I primarily ran 1/8th scale buggy, and those truggies can do some damage if they hit you at full tilt. I don't care if that's the optimal line, if you see a marshal on the track it's your obligation to avoid them. This is actually the reason why for 1/5th scale racing they don't typically have marshals standing in the track area itself. The quarter scale oval guys even have caution flags.

I do have a 2WD SCT, but it's a XXX-SCT so it's completely obsolete by today's standards. Also it's set up for 7.5 Limited Mod which was a class they used to run over in Easly, SC, so it's not legal for stock or 13.5 Spec but it's just a bit too slow for mod.
