ohh didn't realize they used pose animations for aim offsets. I always thought it was just done directly in code. Really cool, i hope you make more

I achieved something fantastic with only 5 animations which is looking forward, up, down, left and right, amazing tutorial.

Thanks for this video Ryan! I would be interested to see how to make the character point the gun at and fire at a central reticule (in third person mode) when using the aim offset you showed here (allowing for close or far away objects), and how to rotate the player 90 degrees when the maximum horizontal offset is reached (to mimic how PUBG handles it). I've had to leave UseControllerDesiredRotation on for now. I tried to adjusting aimoffset using various trace techniques and view half heights and width with limited success. :(

Same. I was following the other videos, and it said in the next video, we'll add jumping. Then I get into this one and it's Aim Offsetting... Huh?

Do you have a video showing a way to add a crouch animation. I have a key bind and can crouch. but im having a hard time updating the poses based on if standing or crouching. I assume you are going to eventually add to these part series to add more like jump and such.

Interesting, what if I just wanted to use pitch only? Would a 1D space work just as fine?

I've bought some animation aim offset packages with epic skeleton, every time I run it correctly as shown I never see the animation change after the made aimoffset in the Animgraph, it's just static anim. Even though I'm going to look at the aim offset everything seems to work. With compile I get the message Basepose was visible but ignored !!! I am distraught and however I don't know how to fix it, Any idea how to fix this ?

Look up the “Enhanced Input Action System”. It’s an unreal engine plugin that’s in the standard engine since like 4.27

Enhanced Input is being pushed as the new way to do it. Controllers are supported natively in UE, you just have to assign the buttons to control events

@@sonny5974 Do you know of any plugins to save time ? Like in the UE 5 market place? This topic for mapping controllers seems like it doesn't get much attention.

How would you get this to show up on the server side. For some reason my client can see these animations but the server cannot. Confused as all the other animations I have been using have been fine.

I found a solution by calling the yaw and pitch in my character blueprint instead of the animation actor. Seems to work except when the client finishes looking up it snaps back to looking straight. I have it connected to an event tick so I'm sure this has something to do with the issue. Will try a few more things.

boolean. If aiming set to off, if aming false set it on .......
