Another hard rock female trio with amazing talent, sick-ass riffs, and a very distinctly unique and beautiful voice. And you barely mentioned the drummer. ;) I had the exact same expressions as you at each of those points in the song. lol

From what I understand they received a lot of hate and even deathreats from members of their community for being young women who wanted to play not just music but this type of music that said that they also have a lot of fans in Indonesia backing them

Thank you for checking them out. There was an older video for this song that was taken down, it was shot in a small room with poor sound quality, even so, they got their message across, if anyone has a link to that video I would appreciate it. You can add RHCP as another influence, one of my favorite videos of theirs is this acoustic cover of "By the Way": kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaWVqpx3l9GHY5I To get an idea of how good Widi is at bass and to get a feel of where they started check out her bass video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rne3iZ1-qZWZbLs There is another Indonesian all-girl trio I'm keeping my eye on, Jewel Box, right now they are in that phase of their career where they are doing covers but they have original music recorded but not released yet. I think they have potential. Here they are doing some Hendrix and Led Zeppelin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqC3ZqyeptaVsM0 kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5isp3x_jLaLY9k

It's still hard to wrap my head around these Muslim kids, barely out of their teens, covering RATM and Slipknot? Marginalized in their own community because of their music, criticized by a lot of Westerners because of their religion, suddenly the song lyrics of this song make a lot of sense! They're still young, and I'd love to see more of their own songwriting, like a whole album's worth.

"I'm not a criminal, I'm not the enemy, i just want to sing a song to show my soul" Damn... that about had me crying like a baby. I can't imagine what it's like in these rule heavy nations.. Or what it's like to not have music. That was quite sad.

Yeah, it's a weird dichotomy. On one hand what lead to the song and is content is difficult to comprehend for some. On the other... they made a friggin great song out of it!

They came from suburbs in a the third country.. With very limited access and very strict society.. Thank god they come from musicians families who still support them.. Until some local famous musicians found them and give them the chance they deserve.. I don't really listen to rock, but their struggle really touched me and others too in many levels🤍

The state never restricts or prohibits anyone from playing any kind of music, VoB said when he was a student at a religious school and chose heavy metal music, of course it was very disturbing for the school because when he practiced his music it was very loud and noisy. There are very few fans of this type of hard rock metal music, especially since they grew up small rural with customs and cultures that keep each other in peace,.. Music lessons at school are usually qasidah or learning darbuka musical instruments. Of course, the choice of heavy metal music is very unusual and is considered a ploy by teachers, parents and the environment. *Baceprot it mean noise.*

Growing up listening to Indonesian music..... There's a lot great band to be discovered.... Yep ..they received lots of hatred at some point just because......idk wearing hijab and play metal/rock genre..and people not only Asian but the world seems to entitle the mental scene to devil kinda stuff so maybe.... But VOB proves metal are not in that spectrum..... Anyway..... VOB brings me the nostalgic feels of Asian bands once again...ohhh i love 80-90s rock/metal bands from Asia

But that's not an argument though...hahaha....law is law😂...still the influence in each bands or artist outside our "territory" can't never fade away... And yet inspired us to create music..... Just taking my time to comment... Great Job Boss! Worth the wait. I believe that you hooked into exactly why I thought you should hear this, and it is a great showcase of skills and style. And the confidence to pull off those solos and tempo changes. Early career, but going places. "School Revolution" was the one that really caught my attention and sealed the deal... I think it brings another few elements into their style that I feel you'll appreciate. 🤘🤘

I don't know if anyone else said this, but this song was inspired by them confiding their desire to play music in a teacher who asked them if they believed in God. They said yes, of course, so he suggested that they write a song asking God for permission to play music. I'm glad they had someone to talk to, but it's so sad that they had to hide like that. On a more positive note, they've been announced for Wacken 2022! Also, i would love to see VoB open for Jinjer once Jinjer is able to tour again.

The story behind this song is a discussion they were having with their teacher concerning the difficulties they were having in their society trying to be this band. The teacher asked them if they were religious, to which they replied "yes", so he told them to ask God to allow them to play music... and we get this song as a result. My favorite video of these girls can be hard to find. It's an in studio (Shoebox) live video. What remains of this online can be found under the video title "voice of BACEPROT SCHOOL REVOLUTION... shoebox studio...". It's an awesome performance of "School Revolution" along with a pair of other songs. The "School Revolution" part of that is must see.
