My Only Madden Tournament game (Madden 13 or 14) My first play was a play action pass to the TE that went 80 yards when I normally play runs on first down. As for this... this isn’t football or strategy. It is just exploits. Anyone can exploit. A true gamer can strategize to win. Thank you.

This is why I no longer play Madden. I remember playing Madden 13 and Madden 25 years ago and the one thing that I always noticed was the fact that people who play the game don't play the game straight. They don't play the game the way that it was intended to be played. Everyone always played with the fastest quarterback and always ran zone read options and always ran double back screens on offense. They also always ran, excuse me if this offends anyone, but it wasn't meant to offend anyone because this is what it I always thought it was called, but "FAG" defense where you had 3 down linemen and 8 defensive backs, the tackle would blitz while the ends would play this weird contain/spy and the defensive backs would hug your receivers and since they had more defenders than you had receivers, the only thing you can do is run a delay. They would never kick or punt because they would always play in the snow and would glitch the game to onside kick the ball every time. They think their "stick skills" are good, but in all honesty, I would beat them 2/3rds of the time and they would always message you at the end of the came claiming you sucked. Madden is a joke and until they fix the issues that they have with the game, then they will continue to be a joke. I apologize if I offended anyone who is gay, but I would always hear people call that defense that name, I honestly never heard anyone call it anything else.

In the draft king madden simulator, Ben Watson is a top 10 TE throughout their simulations. Another thing I noticed is unrealistically terrible time management. The losing team CPU will let the time wind down to under 30 seconds before calling a timeout even if they have 3! The announcers act like it’s normal.

They revealed a snippet of Madden 21 gameplay today at the Xbox event and there's only 3 things to take away from it. 1. Reused break tackle animation 2. NO graphical difference between next gen and Madden 20 3. We're only just now getting a mechanic where the ball carrier reaches for the pylon. This is supposed to be next gen yet it's not. No graphical difference or anything. That reach mechanic was done years ago in backbreaker.

That’s why I stopped playing months ago. I haven’t even thought about playing it and I have plenty of free time right now. Maybe if franchise mode was shy good I’d play it but it’s sucks. So I just play gm mode on 2K. Even tho I started playing and I played online it was basically like I was playing the same person over and over because they were literally running the same offense and defense over n over. Love your content and thanks for speaking up for the ppl who know football brother! Much respect ! This game will continue to be garbage until they make the AI adapt to help the user. I can only control so much. I know exactly what they’re doing and can’t stop it because it’s flawed all over the place

Exploiting the game is the only thing tournament madden players are good at. It's not about strategy or being passive or aggressive at key moments. They aren't playing a game, they just know what breaks the game and they repeat that action over and over. I'm not sure if it still works, but all competitive Madden used to be was picking the same shotgun play and changing the hot routes. Players would run broken plays that the user AI defense can't defend regardless of play calling or user control. Madden might be the worst/most boring competitive game in circulation because it's just flat out boring and defies logic.

This is what has always bothered me about competitive Madden. Weather it be putting in your offensive tackle at receiver, your highest speed corner back at receiver, one of your receivers at running back, or one of your higher speed offensive players at defensive end, putting in your fastest quarterback as opposed to the quarterback that is simply just the best player, it performing a million different formation shifts and audibles in order for your players to line up in exactly the right place, it always felt like a race to see who can exploit the game the most. For example, in Madden 08, there was a WR option pass play that was extremely difficult to stop, because the AI didn't know how to react to a WR that could possibly throw the ball, so you could just run upfield for easy yardage.

Unrelated, they have completely ruined playing against the computer as well with the last update. Now before the update I like to play franchise mode with a fantasy draft I picked the colts and made some trades ended up drafting Chase Young. Before the update I was able to get at least 1 sack a game he was an absolute force ,this was on All Pro. Post update I can’t generate 1 user sack with any D lineman no matter if the opposing OL is rated a 90 or 71. A 71 for gods sake, It is so broken and scripted that even with making changes to the sliders the AI completely cheats . When I finally did get to the QB on a play the ball shot out of the qb’s hand like a rocket without his hand actually moving I pray they fix this before next gen drops.

Madden is as far from simulation football as it gets. We are stuck in an endless loop and for years people cried for 2k to make a comeback and even though they are making a non madden competitor, 2k isn't much better these days. Both EA and 2k have moved towards online cash-grabbing modes and completely neglected their franchise and career modes. Hell, 2k even made the grind so bad in career mode that you are basically funneled into microtransactions in order to avoid having a stroke.

They promoted one of them as an athlete writing a heros name on the back of the jersey he wears during Madden games. I wish that wasnt exactly how it sounds. They show Drew Brees putting a doctors name on the back of his jersey as a real hero......then show this guy putting a fellow gamers wife on his. Madden needs stale play negation. I.e.) when a player spams a play the AI defenders should be quicker off their blocks. Also the AI DBs should be able to sidestep joe thomas at WR immediately as would happen in real life.

I remember watching what would now be considered dev blogs about the old days of Madden when John Madden was actually involved here. They talked about how he would just rip into them if they got a play wrong or a concept wrong and literally draw it out for them and take them through it step by step. I do understand Madden is way up there in age and he's been essentially cut out of the process for a while but my god it's embarrassing that you have former NFL players working on this and yet the game turns out the way it did. Maybe I'm wired different but as someone who's played and coached the game I'd be absolutely embarrassed to put my name on this garbage pile

I come from the competitive side of madden and would love to explain this for you so 1) the mode is salary cap. In salary cap if you want to pass the ball effectively you cannot have a great defense 2) in this madden especially amongst the best players defense is valued more than offense. The thinking is when you build a team to run the ball you want 3 points and you can beat any runner, and 10 points and you can beat any passer. With passing you risk turnovers and in a madden like this where points are so crucial the thinking is you can never turn the ball over running so every single play the worst case scenario is you punt and play defense which is what you have built your team to do. 3) if this was a Mut unlimited tournament every single player would be running a golden ticket qb and either oakland passing forms or west coast bunch

Madden has always had exploits but in the last 5 or so years it’s at an all time high, and I kinda blame certain KZbinrs. You know the “money play beat every coverage” better yet for madden 20 “ unstoppable overpowered run” in the thumbnail. I’m truly not sure what’s worst the fact that EA won’t fix it or the fact that people who run stretch/dive or run with Lamar all day think there actually good. The op run game this year finally put the nail in the coffin for online play. I just lost To a guy using the rams and he ran 26 times and only passed 5 times. I know how to stop dive/stretch but when there paired with a 85+ RB it becomes borderline unstoppable. I’ll hold them to 2-3yds gains then cause of the piss poor pursuit angles ,over powered juke animations that makes 3 defenders fall simultaneously, they end busting out a long run or 2 eventually. I’ve never in my madden life seen people legit running the ball on 3rd and 10 with no intentions of going for it on 4th, but I see it everyday now. Every game I play my opponents have 10 or fewer pass attempts. Even though I’m a pass first person I respect running the ball but not to this level. P.s I have a healthy 71-58 record online so I don’t wanna hear “get good” “learn how to stop it”

Madden sucks. They need to remove animations completely, make juke & spin moves less effective, as well as tipped/dropped passes.

It has been like this since launch, It's gross how EA didn't ban these exploits. It probably says in the rules no use of exploits. I might as well mod there playstations or xbox's and just cheat. (Edit) The prize money should be refunded according to there own rules "Using exploits, cheats, undocumented features, design errors or bugs in an EA service;" (Exploits is the rule almost all if not all "Pros" dp.) and let me just add "Any attempt to glitch the game in order to gain an advantage is prohibited." I guess, EA officiating is worse than the game

My only counter is. How bad is the def user that he cant all out run commit vs a team with tackles playing wr n punters playing qb. It should be allowed to play anyone at any position i want. Are you saying that no matter the def formation or personal that they will get 11yrds every 4 downs? Thats the only way i can view this particular thing as broken. Im just assuming basic football knowledge if a team came out like this on offence that the def would stop it like the wildcat
