Cheapskate builds a DIY snow plow for a Suzuki Carry mini kei truck.
Using scraps and very little understanding of how a plow works I build one from scratch. A bit of welding, grinding, and drilling - along with plenty of head scratching. In this part I mostly find and cut the bits which will be assembled into the final plow.

Nice job. I can’t remember ever buying new steel….so much more satisfying to make something from stuff I already had.

I have welded on concrete for many years without an issue, but I only tack stuff together in contact with concrete and then turn it so heavier welds are not done with the piece laying right on the concrete.

Nice work but I don't understand this caveman style of work? If you have the abilities to build a plow then build a bench to work on! Do it and see how much better your work turns out.

Yeah, I suppose for most tools it's the cost (in time or money or floor space or maintenance) vs the benefit (which depends on how many projects I do). My welding gear is truly sub-par, but it works for now.

Nice work. BTW real men weld on the ground.

Ha, real men that have a habit of covering every flat surface with tools - so even if they had a welding table they wouldn't be able to use it.

I stopped doing that when my concrete started popping… ;-)

@@JimsEquipmentShed uhhm, started popping? As in cracks started in places heated by welding?
