A massive benefit with Fidelity is when you deposit money to be invested. Your money earns 4.99% interest until you buy shares. So if you're doing cash secured puts your still earning interest on your money.

I’ve been using the FXAIX and I notice that if I bought a share on price market, and then when the purchase is settle, the price cost is lowered than the actual purchased! I’m curious about it! What does mean?

Hi! I’m pretty new to investing but I opened up a fidelity account and had a few questions. If I want to invest my money into the s&p 500 do I have to put my money into a Roth IRA first? Also when I try and buy some of the s&p 500 the only way I am able to is if I buy it as a mutual fund. Idk if that makes sense, but if anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks!
@StevenServin3 ай бұрын
Hey, you can’t directly buy the S&P 500 through Fidelity, but you can buy their Fidelity 500 index fund FXAIX which is their version. It would be wise to invest through a Roth IRA.

Love your content. I am sort of wondering though... I invested quite a bit more than $100 a month starting around 24. But now, almost 2 decades later, my numbers aren't matching up with your chart. I'm guessing I didn't pick the best investments in my 401K for the first few years(not as much good info back then), but overall I think they're pretty standard aggressive growth. And I know I was part of that "Lost Decade" of growth and all the financial crisis stuff. I'm glad to be doing ok, but sometimes I get discouraged thinking I should be doing better for how much Ive hustled to save. Any thoughts?

If you’re talking about a 401k that is invested into pre taxes off of your paycheck, you will need to pay income taxes on anything taken out. And if you take out before 60, you pay a 10% penalty fee. Just remember, if you plan on taking any of the money out you will need to report it to your income for that year you take it out.

Hey Ryan. Great to still see you out there! I did take the plunge! I implanted my former employer's 401K into my first IRA. I also funded it via index funds but, I feel I made a huge mistake. I decided to stay with the Merrill Lynch Edge platform. I don't know how costly it will be to move everything into Fidelity. ML has no automating DCA investing because I chose to self direct! There are no fractional shares with ML either. How costly can this be tax wise? Thank you Ryan!

If you are able to do an "in kind" transfer you can switch without selling off any of your assets, I would look into the steps for transferring from Merrill to Fidelity

@@RyanScribner Would Merrill help me with this? Who would help me do this transaction? I had settings for dividend reinvesting. My % amounts in my three ETFs will not change? QQQM, VOO & SCHD & AMZN?
