I understand why she hasn’t made an album after Miseducation. It was perfect. It’s the Nutcracker. It’s Thriller. It’s Saturday Night Fever. A generational masterpiece. You don’t have to make another.

Plus she also stated her record label at the time was putting so much pressure on her to release another album. She said it was hard for her to get in that natural creative space again. Then her husband at the time was cheating on her with someone chick in her band. Lauren was fighting for her marriage and raising her kids, so she chose her family instead of the music industry.

Here stylistic choice a bit after the 2:00 mark at the line "Because no one loves you more than me." is just: *chef's kiss* It's like the tiniest thing, but changes the entire vibe of the line from the studio version. In the studio version, that line almost sounds like a plea. But in this version, it comes across way more confident, like she's convinced that it's true.

I so wish this recording were better mic'd so that we didn't hear so much of the room and more Lauryn. Such a powerful voice. ❤

I just introduced her to my son last week. I played a lot of songs for him. Her voice is so beautiful. It brings me to tears. 😢❤️ She will always be one of my favorite singers of all time.

I know what it feels like not to have a song in your heart. I know what it feels like to be scared to sing. And I love you Lauryn.

Ohhhhhh Lauryn🥰😘 If no one understands I do. From sister act until now I’ve understood and love every lyric that you’ve sung. All of the Comformed to loves, guarding the gates and Selahs that most can’t comprehend. 11/17/22😢 I wanna be confirmed to love so I can perform love. Oh my beloved is the greatest love.
