I have libra ascendant. 3rd house lord is Jupiter. In my natal chart Jupiter is conjunct Mars in the 8th house in Taurus. So, Is guru mangal yoga break? I also Saturn placed in the 3rd house in Sagittarius (Purva Ashadha Nakshatra) opposite to the Moon who is placed in the 9th house in Gemini (Punarvasu Nakshatra). 3rd house has the highest points of ashtakavarga in my natal chart. I have been in a Saturn mahadasha for almost 18 years. In this time I developed a lot of hip pain because an herniated disc in the lower back region.

the 5th house is the house of creative intelligence,romance,children and past life good-merits...the 5th house is also a dharma house along with the 1st house and 9th house.The 3rd house has more of a inclination towards our hobbies and interests and our personal desires hence that's why it is a kama house(desires).

If the 3rd house lord is being starved (due to avasthas), will it still break a raj yoga being conjunct a planet involved in such a yoga? Is that 3rd house lord too weak to really damage the yoga?

Ryan i recently did a karakamsha chart. From that chart the atmakaraka was in the third in Gemini, the second highest degree planet Jupiter in the fourth in Cancer. its interesting you mention something about fourth and third lord conflict. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to apply this.

you have to see how saturn is placed because saturn rules the 3rd house...if saturn is powerful 3rd house is good...if saturn weak 3rd house is weak

Dear Ryan, in the Brihat Parashara Hora Sashtra , the section that tells the effects of the sahaj bava[3rd house], it is mentioned that if the 3rd house lord is a female graha or if the 3rd house is occupied by female grahas, then the native will have younger sister. My mother has taurus(female rasi) as third house and the house lord is venus(female graha). But she has a brother and not a sister. Please share your thoughts on this. Thank you.

What's your opinion of 3rd lord mars DB in 11th for a virgo ascendent. On one hand mars is enemies with mercury which wouldn't make the situation so bad but does this give difficulty with team mates and friends? I understand that 11th house is upachaya house so could these situations improve with time?

Assuming you meant that the 3rd is a dusthana house - I've only heard that the 6th, 8th, and 12th were dusthana. Did you make a mistake or was I simply minsinformed?

You are correct. 6,8, and 12 are the commonly taught dusthanas. The 3rd can be considered a very mild dusthana due to it being the 8th from the 8th. Although it still is an upachaya house.
