This phone broke all the rules of the smartphone market when it came out, and the company somehow pulled off a masterstroke. Not only were they able to accurately hit the perfect market segment, but build a reputation from that which would spill over to the rest of the company's products. This is the legendary Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro in 2024.

Redmi K20 Pro was spiritual successor to the Poco F1,a legendary but crude product. In contrast, the K20 Pro was a big improvement in every regard from multiple cameras and an OLED screen to the "full screen" design.Back in the day when I was rocking the F1 and this phone arrived a year later,I was literally kicking myself for not waiting for the K20 instead. PS - People often forget about the underrated vanilla K20 which aside from settling for a slower chip, charging speeds and slightly inferior ultrawide lens than its more cherished bigger sibling came at a notably lesser price, which I then thought was a great deal too.

Has everything I can ask for and things I can't get even in latest flagships (unlimited google photos, viper/dolby for audio, auto call recording, fully bezel less screen...and make UI customisations since Android 11) Definitely not the best for someone who wants a phone that works, but amazing for someone who is willing to put time into it

While I do feel dated without stereo speaker and 120hz screen, it's still good enough for media scrolling, anime watching (with audio jack) and most importantly webtoon comic reading (no dynamic island, notch, teardrop, pinhole front camera) that get in the way of immersion, pop up camera should make a comeback

I remember really wanting this phone when it was new. Unfortunately it wasn't available with 512 GB storage in my country, and 256 GB just wasn't enough for me. So I went for Asus Zenfone 6 instead. It was a great phone. Same screen size as this Xiaomi (I actually used the glass screen protectors made for this on my Zenfone, fitted perfectly). Zenfone 6 was a killer phone, 5000 mAh battery (very big for 2019), and the screen with no cutout was just beautiful, even when it was just LCD, not OLED. That phone worked perfectly for me, I used it for 3-4 years. Snapdragon 855 is plenty powerful even to this day, and the flip up camera was a great party trick. Unfortunately my Zenfone 6 died, probably due to some motherboard issue, I would probably use it to this day if it worked. I think that this Zenfone is also worth revisiting. A great phone from the era when we could get phones with no in display cutout for selfie camera. We sadly can't get these anymore these days really, there are some with in-display hidden camera, but those phones are not mainstream and the camera is pretty bad because the technology still isn't perfected

I had it! What a legend, and the price was crazy for the specs, I got it for less than 350 £ I believe. I miss the pop-up camera

Still own and still use this phone daily. I've been an android early adopter, and I had a lot of phones over the years, including the first Samsung note and the first 1+. This is the phone that lasted me the longest and I bought it back then just casually, I wasn't looking for a flagship which by then became way too expensive, I was just looking for a usable phone. Except the first 1+, which was exceptional, this is the best phone I ever used, even just for longevity. Also, with earlier phones I tinkered a lot and went through roms. I have never felt the need for this as it is still crunching through every day usage.

The K20 Pro is probably the finest phone I've ever used. Cistomizable, powerful, and gorgeous. And god i miss popup cameras...

I'm replying from my own Mi9t Pro. Still working amazingly well after 5+ years. Changed the battery last year as it had degraded to around 3000 mah out of 4000 and it was also started to swallow. The main reason i'm still keeping it is the full display without a camera hole. And YES, the Gcam mod for this phone is really good, like it enhances the camera really well and works amazingly compared to the official camera app

Hello. If I use custom ROM and Gcam on this phone, will the Laser Autofocus still work? One HUGE problem with these sensors with Pixel Binning is that they are slow to focus.

I've been using this phone for 4 years before it's lost. It's an insane package of performance especially using Gcam camera software to mitigate Xiaomi's lacking camera software.

Just replaced the battery after 5 years of use. Suppressing part is the battery was still available for only 1300rs(15 $) with installation. Now again this beast is breathing fire. I will buy new one only when the android version 13 will be outdated

I still use the Mi 9T Pro. It has the stock MIUI 12.5 on it and I really don't want to replace it! I had the Mi 9T before it, put a custom ROM on it and it was fine, but on the Pro never got around to flashing. I wish they made pop up camera phones still, I really don't want to be spied on trough that front camera...

Bought this Dec 2019, still rocking this phone going into 2025 😅 can't really complain, still does everything i need done, play any game I throw at it be it genshin or emulation. And the no notch, no punch hole is just the best. Can't imagine myself switching to a phone with a punch hole or notch

I'm watching this video using my regular Mi 9. Few weeks ago it became lagging so bad that i can't use it. I was searching for a new phone and so overwhelmed by many choices these days. So i decided to learn how to flash it and install the PixelOS rom, and it was the best decision. It works very wonderful and so snappy, just like a new phone, pixel specifically. I believe this phone can handle at least 1 or more years from now, hopefully.
