After 2.5 months of riding across the USA, Ali and I finally make it to our goal, New York City. The route to NYC takes us 100 miles from New Paltz, all the way to Brooklyn Heights. Most of the ride is on beautiful rail trails.
I'm excited to announce that Ali and I are riding across the USA! We're riding Trek's new gravel bikes, the Checkpoint, and the goal is to take the road less traveled in search of great people and inspiring stories. Besides profiling the wonderful people along the way, we'll be asking everyone for LOVE advice. Our route will take us from Oregon to New York and WE WANT YOU to help out. If you have any ideas of places to visit, friends to meet, or burritos to eat, find us on social media and point us in the right direction.

My wife and I turn 61 in July. We have shared a lot of adventure together since we were 12 years old. I’m so lucky to have her in my life. Although we have never shared sure a adventure as you two on your cross country ride, we did “live it” with you and enjoyed your love of life and freedom. We are not able to explore our country right now because for the last 18 years we have been taking care of my mother in law who has major medical issues and as I write this I am setting in her room at rehab from her latest fall. Travel just isn’t in the books right now. So thank you for documenting and sharing your journey. We live on a small island in southwest Florida and I do get to ride my bike 5 or so days a week and each time I have done so lately I think about your journey and the smiles and tears I’ve had following you. God Bless you both. Thank you!

I actually cried. It's like coming to an end of your favorite book, stories and characters and you don't want it to end. But you’re real people, with real journeys that took us all to places we didn't know existed. What an amazing experience to follow the both of you. After every episode I try and ride my bicycle and eat ice cream. ( that should be a Tee shirt ) I hope that means I am in your cult lol. Congratulations on the trip, the show, your relationship and just doing life well and full of love. Thank you. Glen

Ryan and Ali. First off, congratulations on your amazing accomplishment. Most importantly, in strengthening your love and relationship as an unbreakable team! Secondly, for completing the trek across our great nation. I haven’t really watched the news these past 3 months! I have experienced the news about America through the Ryan and Ali adventure. Yours is the true story of these UNITED STATES...the reality of the people who we really are...Despite the strife and ugliness of how the TV portrays us. Thank you two for reminding us of our potential. Your ARE true Patriots!!! Best of Luck, and please never break up!!! Much Love!!!

A few days ago, I found your videos about cycling around the US. Today I finished watching the 34th episode and words are not enough to express my emotions. You and Ali (I know you broke up) are wonderful, you easily won my heart. The people who appear in the videos are very interesting, their stories touch the heart. And video editing is at a very high level, everything, from recordings to music, is done very professionally. I wish you all the best.

You guys are absolutely incredible and special people. It was such a privilege to watch and join along. I am 250 miles from New Orleans, riding down the Mississippi from northern Minnesota. Ryan, you have been my biggest inspiration for this trip. From hospital bed and two surgeries to 1600+ miles on a bike, your videos have encouraged me the whole way. Looking forward to more great adventures from you both and lots of love from Port Gibson, MS!

Ryan Van Duzer thank you!! Means so much :) The ride has been incredible. It is not the most scenic route in many places (most of the scenic riding was actually in my home state of Minnesota), but the people have made the trip. I have ridden past some incredible poverty in the Mississippi Delta (and incredible culture and food!), as well as parts of Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee. But, people are resilient and so giving, even when they have little to nothing. Anyhow, I hope we can meet one day in person. If you are ever back in MN, you are always welcome! All the best

Cried like a baby watching this video! You guys are so inspiring with your beautiful attitudes and pure love and joy for each other, people, family, life, and adventure! I can't believe this trip is over! I'm really looking forward to seeing what other adventures are in store for you guys! I moved away from the USA as a kid after my family fell on hard times and have been living in Mexico, haven't had the opportunity to even come visit since childhood, I stumbled on your Baja videos and I was so awe-inspired that I went out and found some bike parts off of friends and some chop shops and started riding myself and haven't stopped since! Through your videos of all the wonderful people in Boulder I've made it a mission to make it out there with my family I've made here and we really want to be a part of what seems to be an amazing community of people! Watching this trip and seeing all the wonderful people you met cross country in the USA has really made me confident in the humanity and love I was afraid I wouldn't see after only seeing the USA through how the media depicts it (like Dana, oh man, she seems like the most amazing person in the world she has become a role model for me after the Cuba cycling trip, seriously haha)! Hope to be neighbors soon! Bless you and Ali and all your family and community!

You two have showed the world what it’s like to be vulnerable at times and still finish the day off with a smile, even when you can clearly see, you don’t want to. Once again, can't say enough about the cinematography and your film editing abilities, as illustrated in the 34 phenomenal episodes produced in this adventure. First class! Ryan and Ali, I am so glad to have met you, although you have not met me. I have just watched your trip across America last year and have to tell you that your story is one of inspiration and admiration. I live in the Shen Valley of Virginia and found your biking videos by watching your trip to Baja. My Son Adam who is currently about 320 miles from finishing the Baja Divide trail in La Paz. Who has been quite the adventurer since his college graduation back in 2014. That year he completed thru hiking the AT trail from Ge to ME in 102 days and the following summer he completed the PCT trail in 98 days. 2 years later him and his girlfriend decided to tackle the Great Divide on bikes (their first trip together), where he met 2 individuals from Boston who he is currently riding the Baja trip with. So your video series became very captivating and are so well put together. I never do much front end research about any of his trips as of recently until he leaves. The Baja trip was one that caused some sleepless nights for his Mother and I before he left but we sat and watched your Baja series together after i found it on You tube and i just wanted to tell you that most all of our fears were put to rest by your video series and how well you captured this area. So thanks so much for that!!! Now on to why I feel moved enough to write to you. Me and wife are married 32 years this year and always tried to be the outgoing adventure type of family, but life and all it's busyness make you get in the Coffee line so to speak so much more than you want to, but thru it all we managed to raise 2 boys who are now men that both have a special style about them and how they live their lives and it is so good to be in touch, either directly or thru something like You tube with what feels like Kindred spirits like you and Ali. I wish you all the best in everything you do and hope that you get to do it together forever. If you ever in the Virginia area especially the Shen Valley, where there is some epic biking by the way. we would love to have you stay in our little place by the creek and break some bread and get to know you. Not sure what the best way to get you my contact info safely, but just felt compelled to reach out to you with this short message. I have just recently followed you on Instagram and I am on there as well @ apptrail44. So glad for you both and wish you all the best of luck in the future. Take care my friend and best to luck in your next adventure!!!!

I wish you both all the luck and good mojo from Virginia to keep growing and hopefully finding the lasting recipe to stay together and make adventure trips forever. your positive message in these video series was right on time to help me thru a very grey Winter here on the east coast. Loved this whole series! It's so cool to remember that moment in your Baja Trail video where you spoke to your unknown "future wife" and said that these treks were the kinds of adventures you'd embark on together. A few months later, there was suddenly this cute girl popping up in your Caballo Blanco videos. Magic! I feel lucky to have met you two not long before the beginning of this trip, and through the series, to have watched you grow closer together. Beyond love, I think this series offered a gentle, everyday brand of hope in so many ways. Thanks for taking us on the road with you! I'm so going to copy you guys one day!

I absolutely loved this video. You are absolutely living the dream and it's so great to see you do it. Also love that it restored your faith in humanity and boosted your patriotism. I remember when my father & I took 2 motorcycles around the country encompassing 5 weeks and 13K miles back in 1984, the time together, but also with random strangers along the way made it so powerful.

You two are amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey. The part where Ryan mentioned being in places and wishing there were someone to share it with, that really hit home for me. I've been traveling the world my whole life, and as amazing as it has been and those passing friends are uniquely special, it's bitter sweet to not have that familiar who you can, a week, a month, a decade later be like, "hey remember that time...?" .. so, you give me hope. Or at least peace that it does exist for some. Thank you.

Was I the only one waiting for a proposal at the end of the love cycle tour? Ali and Ryan you two are amazing! My wife of 14 years watched this series with me and we took a lot of great advice and tips. We are out of the young love strange and in the chaos of raising children and paying bills. You interview a couple that talked about making sure to take time and do things together because when the kids are gone so many couple realize they don’t know their partner anymore. We have never thought of that but can see how that can be very true. Best of luck to you both!

Hi Ryan and Ali! My wife and I are so bummed we didn't talk to you guys on RAGBRAI. We actually made it into one of your videos (the one where you guys went into the malt shop at 10am which had all the local school sports pictures - we were sitting in a booth and my wife is wearing a Michigan State jersey). I recognized you in the malt shop from watching an older RAGBRAI video you had done, but unfortunately, I hadn't looked further into your channel at the time. Had we known in July about this x'country trip you two were taking, we probably would have ridden with you part way across Michigan. (We live in the East Lansing area - very close to the route you took) Anyways, after finding your channel a few weeks post-RAGBRAI, my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your travels. You really have that special spark and the video editing chops to go along with it. We love your videos a ton and hope to maybe run into you guys if our cycling paths ever cross again. Keep up the awesome videos! Josh and Diana

This has become a habit, which I enjoy, throwing you shout outs to you Ryan (and Ali). Another video that honestly makes me feel better for seeing it. Not only inspiring, but prompting in my head, "What is possible?" and "Why don't you do it?" Though my adventures are gauged to my ability and with every challenge it adds physical, emotional, spiritual strengths to my human inner-bucket o stuff. You add goodness to the world and though I feel like a broken record posting the same message about your grooviness, it's going to continue to happen as long as you be you amigo. Thanks!
