I forgot to add this, but Amelia ran 8hours, 20 minutes and got 3rd place. BOOM!! Also, if you’ve never read the book, Born to Run, I highly recommend it-even if you don’t like running, it’s a great adventure story.

Hello Ryan. I just "run into" your Caballo Blanco ultramarathon videos and man I really enjoyed all of them. Emilia is just gorgeous and a warrior. I am a "could have been a good runner" but now I am caught in the 9 to 5 daily grind you know. Man the Copper Canyon views are awesome. I did the Chihuahua Pacifico train years ago and I know where you are running, just grueling. Plus you are filming, cheering and narrating. Thank you for promoting my country. I hope in the future I can go there and get to meet you and some of the Muchos Locos doing that race. No one can beat you on getting fun, one can really see you love what you do. You are blessed. Say hi to the Raramuri people for me. Take care man. P.S.. That "hola vaca" was epic, I spilled my tea all over.

I enjoyed your video about my people. My great grandfather moved to Chino, California somewhere around 1903. It’s known for sure he bought land there in 1906 for $6 an acre. Recently I’ve been looking for a way to give back to the community around the race. It’s exactly what I need for my mental health. Thanks again for the positive video. There’s another side to this story and the struggles of the Raramuri.

I'm still in the first ten minutes, but the comments about Mexico in my experience are spot on. I've been to Mexico a lot due to work and I've got to see their personal and work cultures. It's not perfect, but I've never experienced a culture that was. What I found is that the people were kind and helpful. There are definitely those that aren't, and I DO NOT enjoy driving there :), but my experiences were always mostly positive.

How do you train for this in colder temps and less daylight so when you show up the 80+ temps are not so bad? Curious of your mileage and type of miles you do training up to this as well? I'm just looking to finish. I have lots of marathons under my belt (most at 3:30 or faster), but this is a different animal (and I'm older now), so trying to gather insight from someone with your experience.
