You’re the man Ryan! It’s funny that watching you cross that finish line actually choked me up a bit. You’re an inspiration bud. My favorite part of your video was when you said, “remember that we get to do this.” Oh man sometimes that’s hard to live by. My mom used to love to run. She got MS when she was in her 30s and I never actually got to see her run but my brothers always tell me about it. They used to ride by her side on their little bikes. She lost something that she loved. As long as God has us here and we have the health to keep going we have to remember we get to enjoy this beautiful life. God bless you brother! Keep it up and maybe someday we’ll cross paths on the trail.

Ryan. you are a goddamn behemoth of an inspiration! The mental aspect of an endurance event is absolutely vital as you felt it now. The fact that you were not feeling great at the start and well into the race but still kept on is a testament to your mental strength. Also the fact that you were ahead of your previous time every single step of the race is a sign that sometimes you just need to shut the brain off for a second and let the body do its thing! I know I can transfer all this mental aspect of running ultras into endurance riding. I cant fathom running for almost 23 hours. You have to be in some serious shape to be able to pull that off and come out smiling. I hope you realize the fact that you just shut down your paincave...at least until you try for an even longer distance... ;)
