Ryan thanks for great videos and the funnies. I do a similar chanting... Safe now... Safe now...Safe now (or All Safe Now). Three times when I get nervous about cars going by. Covers all biking mayhem situations, plus all are positive words (i.e. without negative "no" word)

I have watched many videos on KZbin as part of my job. As far as vlogs go, this is one of the best. The sense of adventure and spontaneity is well conveyed and the encounters are varied and engaging, helped somewhat by the interesting characters you meet along the way and your good selves. Good job!

Saw your bike thief vid and wanted to share my story of a bike thief. Didn't think you would see it on that vid so I'm just gunna leave it here for everyone. Hope you all enjoy the crazy! (story below) I have a sort of similar story.... I was in college about 2 years ago, and lived in a place that had 1 set of stairs leading to the front door. I always locked my bike at the bottom between classes, but took it in at night. Well between class one day, I heard the clang of a bolt cutter breaking through the first post of the fence that my bike was locked to.( I locked it to 2 knowing where I was leaving it was risky, in the hopes that if someone tried to take it I would hear them break the first post, and make it outside before the second post was cut). Obviously my strategy worked, and I bolted up from my desk and flung my door open, and theres a skinny crackhead looking guy hunched over my bike!!!!! I scream "THATS MY BIKE" and jump down the stairs, he sees me and tries to make a break for it. As he runs for the complex's closed gate, I shove him as hard as I can in the upper back, and he careens into the gate, crumpling to the ground. he scrambles up, and is now cornered by me and my roommate(who came running after me) he tries to bolt again but I grabbed his jacket hood, he backs up to a tree and I grab is shirt collar and start hoisting him up the tree with it (picture him standing on his tip toes, trying to grab my hands, with his back to a tree, and me pushing him upwards against the tree by his neck), slightly choking him. he says to let him go and I ask what his name is 'my names ben man, please just let me go' me 'well ben, you just made the biggest mistake of your fucking life!!!!' then me at the top of my lungs 'HELP HELP HELLLLLLLLLLP HES TRYING TO STEAL MY BIKE!!!!! HEEEEEEEELPPPPPPP' and boom, doors all over the complex start to fling open and other college guys rush to my aid. we corner him up against the pool gate and call the police. we waited for about 5 minutes and then my sadi Arabian neighbor rotahan comes out with 3 belts and a towel rack 'we need to tie him up???!!!! WE NEED TO TIE HIM UP?!?!' I tell him no, that the police were coming. Rotahan turn to the bike thief and says 'in my country you steal from him you steal from me!!! you want to steal from me??!?! raises towel rack 'ben' (real name tony knight, look him up on az public records)starts to squirm out of our grip, we get ready to jump the guy, and just at that moment a police officer walks up, asks whats happening, and puts tony in handcuffs. He ended up getting a year in prison because my bike cost more than 2k, which makes the crime a felony. And THAT is my story. Don't steal bikes!

Ryan, it was a pleasure and heartwarming to watch your video and see that you're off to a great start and achieving the goals you set out for. I'm glad the two of you or making this trip because it's obvious it means alot to you. I'm sure you will find lots of nice stuff on the way, but cars and bikes on busy roads are always an issue near cities. hopefully you'll find all the roads less traveled. I'm amazed you could still put out a video with all the overhead looming of performing the trip itself.

If traveling through/near Alliance, Nebraska a visit to Carhenge, just a few miles northeast of town, might be worth the trip. You may know that Carhenge is an attraction (sculpture?) of old car bodies painted all gray and set up like Stonehenge in England. Maybe there is a statement about the obsolescence of the internal combustion engine or something in there (though Stonehenge itself might not at all be about obsolescence).

I have a Q&A question you make all these awesome videos but how do you decide on when to take out the camera and when to get in the miles it is awesome that you guys did 70 miles for me that is one of my struggles when I make my videos to do 5 miles before I get my camera out to start making a video then I see that perfect bird or the perfect waterfall and I feel I do more time taking pictures than I do right in my bike I am the fat man on a bike from Klamath Falls Oregon

I think you guys finding a place to crash the first night out is a fantastic sign of a very good ride . As far as relationships go I think the basic steps to a great long relationship is having the three main ingredients. Communication, Trust , Honesty . I think if you lack one of these basic three your doomed to fail . Good luck on the ride if you come through Chicago and need a place to crash look me up . Be safe .😊🚵♀️🚵🏼♂️

As someone with over 30,000 miles on an ebike. How you have no mirrors on your bikes I don't understand. Mirrors are super vital to me. I rarely ride to the right of the white line as well. Which is why I rarely have flats. I often go 5,000 miles on the same tires with no flats. That berm gravel holds the sharp bits of debris just waiting for your tire. I only move to the right of the white if it is for some reason safer for me to do so, but most of the time it is less safe. I am planning an 8,000 + mile ebike trip from the Atlantic, down to the gulf, across some of the Mexican border, up to Venice beach, then meander back towards the east coast, hitting Niagara falls to hit the Canadian border. Love the video work on this.

Nice and venture and really happy you found a partner to share with. Now if I could give an advice, it would be that you two should simply enjoy each other as much as possible, getting to know each other and just be yourself with one another, have each other giving your own time and just enjoy the relationship as much as you guys can cause once you get into a much more serious relationship such as living together and stuff like that things can drastically change for good or bad. THE BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND RELATION is just that. A boy friend who she has a much deeper connection with but that she’s always free to make any decisions on herself and the relationship and viceversa. HOPE you get my point. You guys rOck together and I’m happy for you. Keep it up and just enjoy. Happy trails my friends

I have another q & a question how many miles do you do before you set up your camera to take another shot for your videos to balance out how many miles you do and to make all these awesome videos for myself and being the fat man on a bike what could happen when I make my videos I try to do three to five miles but then there are times that be a perfect sunset or sunrise or beautiful waterfall that I would just half to get my camera out and to gets that in part of my videos so I find myself trying to get the perfect camera angle or picture more than riding my bike to get 2 miles in how do you decide I'm getting the miles in order to get to stop and dig out your camera
