Did anyone notice that I ate a full Mexican meal, then peaches, and then a whole pizza? I didn't..until I looked at the footage. Yikes! What are some of your favorite foods on a bike tour?

Loved that happy dance at the end, lol. Your drone shots are so good! I love the added perspective they bring to the story 7:41. I especially liked that shot of you riding along 10:10 and you can see the winding gravel rode sort of meander off behind you for miles 10:24. So cool. This series is amazing.

I have a friend that just got an E Bike. Usually he is only good for about 7 or 8 miles. We just biked over 50 miles in Southern Illinois together. So great that he can spend more time biking with me. Now he just has to get used to being in the saddle longer. Dig your videos Dude!

That's the positive side to ebikes - it can keep people biking for more years and get others who stopped biking back on the saddle. It's tough with a 20mph headwind and hills for many - just need to keep them going. Colleagues that have been doing cross Wisconsin rides with family can still do it in their 70s without having to give it up.

I know that you really don't talk religion, but I will. There are times when I am by myself on a ride, road or mtn, those quiet places with all the natural splendor surrounding me, that I fully appreciate the greatness of God's creations. Especially when I cross paths with a deer that doesn't panic and run so that I can just stop and enjoy the beauty.

On the Oregon Outback Trail, mid way through, we stopped at a convince store that stayed open just a teed bit longer for us dirty biker trash as we rolled in on a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and we ate a large tub of cottage cheese with ruffles cheddar chips. Best eaten sitting on the ground, leaned up in the baking sun against the concrete wall of the store, dirty legs stretched on in front of me. Oh. Best day ever.

Making KZbin videos is a ton of work, not to mention a big investment in cameras and gear...you really have to have a strong desire to maintain a channel...and john is a pretty busy guy.

Whammies are real bad and totally unexpected, worse than a crash....like getting struck by lightning, or attacked by Murder Hornets, or falling off a cliff...you get the idea ;)

Just found your channel. Loving the Great Divide vids. I want to ride the great divide as well, but unfortunately I will not be able to do the entire trail. If you were only able to ride like 600-800 miles of the trail, which section would be your 1st choice?

So your Priority bike is out of my price range, do you have a suggestion for a bike that sits you up as straight as yours does? I know the gears a great, but I like how upright you are on your bike as much as anything.

Overall which of these 2021 MTB is best? Trek Marlin 7, Giant Talon 1, Jamis Highpoint A2 or Kona Lava Dome? All are available at my local bike shop which is important to me and all MSRP between $750 to $850 which is my price range.

Great video Ryan. Mmmmm...mexican food! And btw...thanks for not pointing out the obvious "paid advertising" when I served up a softball the other day by mentioning GCN's Si having positive comments on Topeak bikepacking bags. Even though their sponsorship guidelines say they only use products they like...it's still sponsored and money is paid...I get it. Truth is, I've been doing a lot of research...and their price points and my really good experience with some of their other products, has me convinced it's a good place to start. Question for you: Does other parts of Colorado have a cheaper cost of living than the Boulder/Denver area? I have a riding buddy who has a condo in Colorado Springs and he says it's not much different than St Louis...because its not touristy like the popular places. Your thoughts? And yes..I noticed you had a ton of food! It's OK bro. You earned the burn...I'm guessing 2000 plus calories for the day. No worries.
@duzer
@duzer 4 жыл бұрын
Boulder/Denver and some other places in the front range (and ski towns) are expensive. The rest of colorado is pretty reasonable
