I took my 22 rally on a 5 mile dirt road a while ago, it worked well. it was a poorly graded road with multiple mud puddles. it was mostly dry but some water at times. unfortunately it was a soft powdery sand about 2in of powder on some sections which I didn't care for. I went fast over those areas in fear I would get stuck bit surprisingly it went right through with minimal digging in. I thought it would have been worse but I can't tell for sure.. I did not stop on the powder and try to go from a stop, maybe I will try that at some point. but it was a decent ride overall. one thing you can do is adjust the rear preload on the spring. it will make it a but firmer ride but has less chance of it bottoming out. since I have the 22, I adjusted the shocks 1 to 4 and tried out the settings. 1 is very soft, 4 is firm. it. handles better traction wise in the firm, but its more comfort in the soft setting. the issue is you are prone to bottoming out in the soft so you have to make it firmer to prevent that.

Sounds like a good time. Riding in Rally mode on loose soft surfaces does require not being afraid of the throttle. I have been stuck before in a few inch’s of very loose gravel but only because I was in a place where I couldn’t get a good run. Found 1 spot where I could back the bike into then hit the throttle (in Rally mode of course) and made it all the way up the incline. Fun stuff. #1 rule-if in doubt throttle out😁

Wow thank you so much for this video. It's hard to find answers and experience. My wife stopped riding two wheels (adv) after an accident years ago. Then 3 years ago she started riding an atv but loading them on/off a trailer and leaving the truck unattended isn't fun so she wants a Ural. I don't want her to get a Ural primarily because they're under-powered. So we're looking at the Can Am. ‼️QUESTION: Out of all the 3-Wheeled Can Am models, is it the Rally edition of the Ryker model that's the most forest road worthy?
@RideForAdventures Жыл бұрын
There is the Ryker and then there is the Ryker Rally edition. The Rally is built stronger for off pavement graded dirt/gravel roads. Better suspension, better tires and wheels, and Rally mode. Not a trail bike or a quad, but gets me into the forest far enough. Your very welcome!

@@RideForAdventures exactly what I was hoping for. No offroading, just forest service roads 🙂👍

What trunk luggage are you using? Great information! I just got my Ryker Rally last week. I’m really enjoying it but wondered how it would go off road! Thank you! ♥️🙌🏻

I thought the rally isn’t for off roading someone lmk cuz I was almost going to get a diff class of the cam am dude to this info I haven’t watched yet but will rn however after off roading the rally class for some times do you see any issues over time quicker than what’s considered normal
@RideForAdventures Жыл бұрын
Hi! No issues😁 The Ryker Rally is not a trail bike, but it is an off pavement. Most graded dirt and gravel roads as long as they are not too rough. Rally mode is needed to go off the pavement. It allows more spin on rear drive tire so that traction can continue. I am going to the Dempster highway in July. 800 km of dirt and gravel in 2-3 days. Will go as far as the Arctic circle in Canadas far north. All will be vlogged here on my channel, Rally To The North. Be sure to subscribe.

They didn’t go off Roading they went down gravel roads, or non-blacktop roads

That is correct.

I see off-road in a city. Talk for you as in you left the blacktop and had to drive on gravel.

I rode on gravel/dirt purposely. Cannot get to the Arctic Circle without riding 400 km there and 400 km back. It’s my favorite way to ride😁

Ok ok, off pavement then lol

If you had one more wheel, you could have an atv.

Haha ya I guess so. The Ryker cannot do what a quad can. It can go off road but on graded gravel or dirt. Clearance is only 4.5 inches.

@@RideForAdventuresGoPro's own editing app, Quik, works okay for stringing together short clips. Can get buggier with larger file sizes and resolutions but it works pretty well for me.
