October 2019 ... in Illinois the course gives you both tests at the community college ... no written or road test in Illinois at dmv.. couldn’t afford it this past year and half but for my birthday in January... gona try get one .. class was fun to learn ... and recommend for safety and correct riding!!!!!

Best thing I ever did was the go ahead to test ride the ryker 900!!! Went to seminole powersports here in sanford Florida and they put it in sport mode and at the first light took off a little brisk and spun the tire thru the intersection😳 and was smiling and chuckling the whole test ride...what a blast and what a machine and that’s why I’m gonna buy one this summer👍👍

I did the class too before purchasing. They had a free 5minute demo ride at my local Fairgrounds. I had no intention to buy, it was something free to do on a Sunday! I was hooked. Then they gave us a discount to take the class, ours was 1 day 5 hours I believe. After that purchased mine about 2 weeks later, lol. I did buy the 600, and I love it. Hello from Cali keep making the videos. I just got another idea to make a seat cover!

Hi Beth : What gets me about the Ryker here in the UK is to buy it costs about a 1/3 of the cost of a Spyder , presumably because it is newer and has less long range capabilities but saying that, its just as expensive to buy as a normal Motorcycle yet on a full car licence I can drive it so no endorsements over here. Everything u make from anything after 10:01 is 100% profit. The uploader has spent 0$ out of pocket. Yes time is a value but again making a video is a choice. Not a job I still like and send your vids to anyone I know with questions. No bs. I happen to like them honestly. Sometimes long. But still good overall

Great video - thankful I came across your channel. I am currently at 900 miles on my 2020 rally. Only one thing to comment on this video - I believe the "Y" in Spyder and Ryker refer to the Y-frame they are built on. That is why the Y is a different color in some of their logos for the Spyder and Ryker names.

The Ryker, with the stock exhaust is not too loud, even at higher speeds. Get a good wind cancelling helmet. For me, the wind vibration is sometimes annoying at highway speeds only.

I found out with mine that shoes make a difference. I usually wear hard soled boots and the brakes feel stiff and responsive. And some times on the weekend I just throw on a pair of Adidas and the brakes feel softer like I really have to step on it to stop.

Considering the Rally Edition. You did a great job although abit long. Long story short I did subscribe. BTW, if brakes feel spongy, do not just deal with it. Find the source and solve it even if you have to have a pro involved. Brakes and steering are the two most important safety critical parts of any ride. Cheers.

Ryker Rydes you will be surprised how close you can come to that color with spray paint. If you can get a piece of the wrap, you can take it to Home Depot or Lowe’s and they will tell you which paint will match it

I bought my Ryker 900 rally last fall when I turned 70, no previous motorcycle experience. I now have over 2,000 miles. Love it. Every mile has been sheer pleasure; city, country and highway riding. I added reflective tape, an 18” windshield and a LinkQ platform which accommodates a variety of storage options my favorite of which is a large backpack with a lot of organized compartments for a six day trip.

Cramp buster for cruise control or an ATLAS throttle lock

Hi! Great question. First thing, Cramp buster is NOT for cruise control. It just gives your wrist some support, especially when traveling long distances. ATLAS throttle lock is for cruise control. So you may want both? I am a little afraid of the cruise control lock, I'd have to see it in action before buying.

When you talked about how dark it is in the rear and you showed us, that was unrealistic because someone behind you would have their headlights on. We couldn't see how well the reflectors on the fenders show up. Adding more reflectors would be an inexpensive way to add visibility if needed. Thanks for your videos.

So I have my ryker already I've been driving for about 2 months now I contacted the DMV before I purchased it and then when I went to the DMV to take the test they also said that you don't need to take the skills test and I also called a third time and they said again that you don't need to take a skills test...not 100 % tho

Hi, I'm am test driving a Ryker 900 this weekend. How does it fair on road trips?

Hi! This is just my opinion.....it is not great for long trips. I just did a 2 hour trip and I couldn't wait to get off the bike. Also, it is not great on gas and has a small tank. So if you are going fast on the highway, you will need to stop for gas often (every 1.5 hours). If you are looking for a trike for a lot of long trips, the Spyder may be the way to go (think comfort, speakers, CRUISE CONTROL etc.). But if you plan on doing a trip every once in a while then the Ryker should be fine. Get the back rest!!!! Let me know your thoughts after you test drive it!

Hi! Thanks for watching and the comment. No, I never even considered the spyder! I didn't love the look of it. It felt too much like a jet ski to me (just my opinion). That being said, the spyders are way more luxurious and comfortable. More bells and whistles!! Also, double the price! My riding is mostly around town, except for some charity runs. So I didn't need or want a big cruiser. The second I sat on a Ryker, I was sold!

@@laserracer6 You can't beat the comfort of the spyder (maybe look into a used one)? If you are looking to ride 2 up on the Ryker, you will need the comfort passenger seat and backrests for both. I heard the original passenger seat is not comfy for long rides. After you factor in all the extras (2up spring, storage etc) you might revisit the spyder. Sorry, I think I just made it more confusing for you! lol

Very little in a small frunk (front trunk). Just enough for a wallet, water bottle and an extra shirt. But there are tons of additional things to add to the Ryker. Such as a big storage bin.

@@raymondali3688 These are great questions!! zMy Ryker has been VERY low maintenance. I have roughly 1400 miles and only brought it in once to get a recall done! Gas and go! No gears or brake levers, just twist and go,, One brake pedal for all 3 tires.

Nice to see a fresh face talking about the ryker. I got my 3 wheeled endorsement 3 days before my 50th birthday and plan on getting the 900 rally summer 2020. You are so rite, the first time I sat on one I knew I just had to get one. The Ryker will be perfect for me cause it's like learning the basics just in case I want to move up to the F3. Like I said im 50 years old and don't want to worry about balance at a stop. You said that it hard to see it at nite and I noticed the strip on ur ryker. If ur a fan of Tron U might like this. www.wrapdirect.com, it just an idea. In hope to do mine in red or orange. I was wondering have seen the parking break lock? Well that enough of my rambling. Hey a future fellow ryker buyer here as well (2020) and 49years old which I’ve been riding since 2004 on 2 wheels and this will be my first 3-wheeler, just tired of trying to balance a heavy bike and no more kick stand to worry about too!! Haha

Hi! Thanks for watching!! It's funny, 50 seems to be the magic age where people are looking to get on a bike. It definitely makes you feel young and alive!!! I have seen the parking brake lock as well as the gas tank lock. My bike is garage parked, so I am not too stressed about it getting stolen. Little tip: Make sure you spend the money and get the back rest! You can thank me later!! Thanks for the link to Wrap direct! Very cool. I had no idea that you can get such unique wraps!
