I think the book Lily isn't as jumpy and hyper as her movie counterpart. It's hard to explain, like the book Lily gave off a serene, calm vibe, but Blake is kind of jittery, like she can't stay still and quiet for long.

Book Lily had a look of inner turmoil tho. At least to me, she came off as pretty conflicted, esp when she was battling staying vs leaving. The "you can stop swimming now" was sort of like a 'you can finally rest' to me. So idk I kinda feel like the 'nervous energy' vibe works?

Ok I'm an art film person and regardless of the lawsuit drama going on can we just appreciate how BRILLIANT the way the fight scene was shot? It was all a continuous shot around Ryle and Atlas. I think its called a circle dolly shot? No jarring cuts, no over editing. It made you feel like you were actually there watching the fight unfold in real life. What a tough job for Ryle’s actor, he was also the director of the movie. Imagine acting, while also having to think of the lighting, and pacing, and cuts and blocking among many other things. P.S. Blocking refers to the movement of actors during the scene, so that they don’t get out of focus and the body language performance seems as real as the facial one.

@Caynine17420 Yup! Justin owns the rights to that book too and there's no way he's going to put Blake in the sequel or let her produce it. Lol.

I hated ryle and this relationship is a red flag But I hated Atlas too Based on the full novel not the movie He knew that he could ruin lily’s life by his consistency to stick to her while he knows that she has her life now This wouldn’t have been a lovely story if lily chose right husband and had good husband rather than ryle Also I felt when I read the novel that she pitied him more than she loved him

For everyone that says “I loved Ryle for the get go”, that’s being groomed into abuse but I get it. I’m 27, and so incredibly in love with a guy that’s the same age and treats me so so well, but I’m so used to being treated like “men’s normal” that it’s supposed to feel like something special. The right person will love you for you! If anyone lays a hand on you then they’re the worst person. Wish I could be the kind of woman that is a sister to everyone, because you all deserve better ❤️

I haven't read the book, so i dont think Ryle is an abuser. I feel lily is the trouble maker not being upfront from the get go and lett8ng Atlas go amas she should. She's a player imo

Why did she choose Ryle over Atlas when she liked them both and they both liked her? Was it because Ryle had a job that earns more money?

Who the hell would think up names like Ryle and Atlas for characters? Romance novels are so cringe. I'm only watching this because of the hubbub around the making of the movie. The author sounds like an idiot for siding with Blake.

Right?! If I'm sitting drinking at a bar and get bumped by other people who are fighting, my instinct is to quickly move to a safer place, not to join in trying to hold back a bigger guy. One of a thousand unrealistic details in this film.
