This song punched me in the chest. It is SO real to me. As a person climbing out of a suicidal valley I can empathize so strongly with the lyrics... and it made me cry for three reasons. 1. I am not alone in feeling this way; someone else GETS it 2. The song made me think of a friend I trusted to tell about my battle, who turned around and broke my heart. I cried because I remembered that experience... 3. And I cried because I felt this deep wistfulness for a friend like Ryn has, combined with a bittersweet joy at the knowing that there are people in the world who *won't* give up on you. Thank you, Ryn. Please keep fighting.

I listened to this often when it first came out 6 yrs ago, recently found it on an old playlist. I’m now 19 and being able to fully understand the lyrics, it almost feels like my younger self wanted me to listen to this. It’s gut wrenching but beautiful to look back on the past 6 years and recognize the parallels with this song. The journey of becoming self aware of my own harmful behaviours and working towards becoming a version of myself id want to be around. A version of myself that wants to be around. This song feels bittersweet because it’s only a matter of time before another spiral, but I can only hope that I’ve prepared enough as to not put my loved ones in a situation where they would feel the need to forgive me. I have many things I am now deeply grateful for, and this song is one of them. ❤

Very powerful song, gives me the chills every time. I'm trying to overcome my severe depression and this song inspires me to think positively. There are many reasons not to die, and this song is one of those reasons. Also if this is a demo, I personally find the transition at 2:00 a little abrupt and loud, idk the howling just doesn't do it for me, but that's just my opinion. Still an amazing song!!!
