RYNAN PAGUIO OF JABBAWOCKEEZ'S TAKE ON PHILIPPINE ALL STARS

A special episode of ABDC was shot Thursday night to air on MTV this coming Saturday, August 30, 2008. A total of 5 crews from Season 1 and 2 battle for a spot to open the VMA show. After the show taping, The 2008 World of Hip Hop Champions, The Philippine All Stars made a surprise visit to the ABDC set. Rynan Paguio shares his pride in his Filipino-American heritage and his pride in the Philippine All Stars.

Rainen was always my favorite. He still is, but I feel guilty because I love the rest of the Jabbas. I try not to show favoritism because they're all awesome. Anyhow, I've been reading all the comments here and I like to see how the Filipinos show their pride. They have their right to express how proud they are of their country, and their people; whether they're born in the Philippines or U.S. Just like I'm proud to say that I'm Mexican. All cultures are beautiful! Embrace yours!

See that's what I love about Jabba ... no ego. These guys have been in the dance scene for such a long time and helped shape hip hop dance in the US west coast but they genuinely appreciate crews that live and breathe dance. It's no surprise that they have nothing but good things to say about PAS. Jabba and PAS effin rock. Hopefully, we all learn to appreciate BOTH crews.

I think they were something like a "special performance" group for the people in the studio. The music they used may not have been cleared by MTV or the producers of the show to be aired on tv. And I think they would have a hard time explaining why they're on tv for continuity purposes. People would say "who are these people and why are they even on this show?". That being said, PAS is a sick crew that brings something new to the stage. A different but sick style AND they can lift people?

PAS actually blew the whole crowd away. If you were there, you could feel the love from the audience especially when they started the chant "Filipino! Filipino! Filipino!" Their performance was a last minute special treat for the audience. The Philippine All Star performance was not part of the actual MTV production of the ABDC Battle for the VMA taping. That is why it was not aired.

Their mask IS unique, but I wouldn't believe it was the sole success of their crew. What brought them to the top was their creativity and their flawless synchronized dancing. I wouldn't put it past them to make top 5 internationally.

both crews are amazing hands down their among the top crews in the world but their different so you can't really compare them like that. All stars got tricks for days that nobodies touchin and all stars couldn't touch Jabba's intricacy and body control

they didn't air it mainly because of copyright stuff due to their mix/music. same situation with every other crew. notice how the mix was different for the top 10 crews in the city auditions compared to the live auditions which they show on tv?

that's because most Filipinos are conditioned to deny their culture/heritage. Whether it's wanting to look white or to be ashamed of their accent, it's true. It's the colonized mentality that is passed down from generation to generation. we need to be proud of who we are, of our history and our language, accent included. We also need to stop being so divisive with each other. Who cares if they're fil-am or half filipino, if they rep our culture, then we should be proud of them.

Given that the copyright issues get cleared I don't think its bad to give the viewers an introduction that they won the world's best hip hop championship and are guesting the show.
