I wouldn't say "better". You're talking bio-mechanics. She's TINY, which can translate into sligjtly faster or cleaner movements. Size makes a BIG difference in that regard. One thing he has that she doesn't is power. You hear it clear as day. He's a freight train.

I don't know enough about the art to find fault with either of them. They are both flawless to my eyes. Maybe Rika Usami's relatively petite physique enables more fluid motion, and she has the skill to maximize the advantage of that gift.

The Shito- Ryu version of Kusanku seems to be the only version which is performed in the tournaments...eccept Kanku Dai....sorry, maybe I am wrong and put this as a question: Do the athletes / karatekas perform also the okinawan versions in competition?

They are both extremely proficient at their karate katas which Ryo Kiyuna is the king of karate and Rika Usami is the queen of karate. To be a bit fair and honest, Ryo’s moves during a karate kata is significantly more faster and tighter than Rika Usami but her moves are also lightning speed as well. PS. Tough choice for me to vote who was the best but I say it would be a tie because Usami has a better technique at her katas which Kiyuna has a more tighter and rapid body move.
