A Ryobi 18v tool today. An outdoor surface scrubber powered by the 18v one+ Ryobi battery system, or in this case, a Makita 18v battery. How scrubby is it?

Greetings from Sweden. I just bought one of these to clean my ten year old 30m2 deck (patio). This Ryobi surprised me *a lot...* I would have been satisfied if it removed 50-75% of the dirt, but this surface cleaner removed almost everything. And fast! I used not only water but also added environment-friendly washing powder. The result was beyond expectation. Highly recommend this tool if you don't have a 200 m2 deck... or bigger.

I've been impressed by the Ryobi 18v: belt sander, pole saw (saved me a bucket load of money), 18g nailer and glue gun. All powered by Makita batteries. I think the deck cleaner might just be my next lime green purchase.

Can that D handle be mounted higher (even if it requires a modification)? They also sell a metal tile Grove brush for that unit which is quite nice. I've seen a bigger 2 stroke rotary brush system, which was superb. This is like a baby size one, but quite effective.

Most important info from that video: the Makita > Ryobi battery adapter :) Ryobi will start making USB-C PD (Power Delivery). This way I’ll be able to use Makita battery to charge my laptop. I like Makita, but they need to understand that they are also in the “big battery” market, not only tools. They starting with fridge and lantern and vacuum cleaner, so there is only few things I’m missing for camping :)

It'd be good if there was a softer brush available - I'm actually interested in using something like this to clean the windscreen of a large van - it's hard to reach the middle of the windscreen, and even if I can, it's hard to apply enough pressure to clean it really thoroughly. So, perhaps a brush accessory with firm microfiber bristles or something like that would be suitable. The standard brush looks like it might be too aggressive for a windscreen.

You need to be careful with adapters. Makita batteries can isolate the terminals if the battery voltage becomes too low and are safe to adapt to anything. On most other brands this is handled through tool-battery communication or in the tool itself. So through an adapter you don't have low voltage protection and you can kill your expensive lithium batteries.

I work for a company that builds military aircraft. This company buys Milwaukee, DeWalt and Rigid all day long...in packs of 10 to be exact. I can tell you that these high priced brands are trash. I bought a Dewalt and the battery went out in about a month. Milwaukee batteries do NOT last long at all. AND Milwaukee makes a lot of seals for military aircraft and submarines. I own almost everything Ryobi. Their impacts have almost 1,200 release horsepower. BETTER than the expensive brands. DeWalt Nailers need to build up pressure to get the Nailer to make multiple hits. The Ryobi is so similar to the Rigid brand. BUT another thing that I like about RYOBI is how you can buy any of their replacement parts. I dropped their pole saw and BAM...there was a replacement casing at a great price....and it was easy to replace.
