Thankyou for this review going ot get one of these myself was a bit on the fence but I already have ryobi batters for my drill/driver. Where did you see the body only for £44? Also can you tell us what the arftermarket battery you use is?

Good vid. My sister in law gave me a Ryobi electric mower - works great - they bought a bigger one so l already have a battery & was looking at one of these as I'm sick of dealing with 2 stokes. They are about $90 aussie & with the amount of wippering l do, not much, your vid has convinced me to go grab ome.

I don't think for what they are they're a bad tool. I'm on my second one now as the first one (featured in the video), Handle fell apart, but the tools get used to death! 👍

I’ve got the 40V version of this. (Actually it’s 36V but in the US they can BS on their advertisements). I’ve found the motor head could really use a blowout with compressed air from time to time. Dirt and debris gets in there. I got mine used on Craigslist a few years ago after aggravation of trying to start a gas one. They run the 18V versions like you have on sale from time to time for $50 with a battery is which is not a bad deal. I’m a big fan of Ryobi stuff. Got their 40V mower and blower as well. 18V stuff is the inflator sawzall circ saw drill stick vacuum and fan. All good stuff. Take care.

Blimey, that's cheap! It's very rarely discounted here in the uk 😢. I've noticed that from time to time, fibourous bits of plant material can get wrapped around the head. And that's a right pain to get clear! 😮

The handle fell to bits a couple of weeks ago, but the actual strimmer still works. I've since bought another. So far i'm impressed as this tool took a battering!!!!

Think it needs more power and a metal blade would be great too

More power is always nice. But for light to medium duty its fine. 👍

Thank you for this video and that trimmer is on my short list of possible purchases. Can you share your experience with how long the Ryobi 2 AH battery lasts? Manufacturer quotes 20 min. but I'm sure it's a bit less in practice. Thanks.

Mark if I get chance yes. Although I use the aftermarket 6ah batteries and they seem to give a good account of themselves.

With regards to battery life 20mins for the genuine one is probably about right. Although you do get a loss of power towards the end. And I suppose heavier cutting will drain the battery faster. This is apparent when using the brush cutter attachment on thicker weeds. I have a large garden which I look after, so next time I'm there I will only use my 2ah battery and see how far I get. But it's mainly used for edging on that job. 👍👍

@@realtimereviews8715 I appreciate the reply and that tells me enough; no need to go out of your way to test it. A local store is running a special where you get a second battery for free if you buy the trimmer with a battery already included. I'm in the market for both a battery powered mower and trimmer and was hoping to get some battery interchangeability by sticking with Ryobi. However, their mowers don't compare that well with others so, I will probably end up buying a Bosch mower and this Ryobi trimmer today. Your experience has convinced me that buying this won't be a mistake. Thanks again for the informative video.👍
