I have had mine for several years now. It is awesome for many things! Just have to put it into the low setting when messing with smaller bolts so you don't rip things apart. Def has better performance with the larger 4ah battery vs the small battery.

I bought the P261 1 week ago. The unit can loosen fasteners torqued to 200 lbs and less that *are not* fused due to corruption or corrosion. The P261 does not have sufficient torque and impact hammering to remove a fastener torqued beyond 200 pounds or fused as mentioned above. P261 has a duty cycle causing a stall and cool down period, when it struggles to remove the 200 lb plus torque or fusion previously mentioned. Even after applying heat to a 17 mm nut on a Lexus sway bar link, the P261 could not remove it. The Harbor Freight Chicago Electric corded impact wrench rated to 217 ft. lbs. ($49) removed the corrupted 17mm nuts. Therefore, the P261 ($127) has inherent flaws. The small size of the P261 is advantageous in the narrow spaces in the suspension system in a car. The P261 shines in the low setting to replace fasteners as it slowly turns in controlled bursts. Since the unit with the battery weighs 1 kilo, it makes for quick reassembly. This tool with its variable speed makes it better suited to driving bolts and wood screws for wood working projects, e.g. 3/4" bolts in a large rustic table, fences, load bearing beams, and heavy shelves.

Wow! I just (3/6/18) picked up the three pc box w/4ah bat for specially marked $80! They still had the bare tool up front with the other Ryobi cordless tools priced at $119.99 That must mean they really wanna blow out this model that's been out awhile, aaaand, there's plenty of markup on these things. I don't think I can go wrong for $80.

I just picked up the bare tool for $99 (new price) and used a Lowe's coupon to save another 10%. I have 6 of that exact battery plus 3 other older lithium one+ batteries. Not interested in the battery combo version, but agree that it's a good value bundle for some people. BTW, you can usually find a dual battery combo pack for $99 around Christmas.

These Ryobi Impact guns DO work to remove lug nuts off wheels WHEN they are only torqed down to less than 100 ft lbs… A lot of these tire shops use impact guns to tighten the lug nuts down which puts them WAY TOO tight… TOO much for even a 300 ft lb impact gun.. Every tire than i put on for a family member or friend, i torque them down to ~85 ft lbs and i have NEVER had a problem removing lug nuts off those cars with my Ryobi P260 (200ft lb impact wrench) My nephew went to a tire shop to have new tires put on and they told him that he needed new brakes… So he came over to have the brakes done and NONE of my impact wrenches would pull those lug nuts off.. I have a Dewalt DW059 impact gun which is also 300ft lbs and IT would not even brake them loose.. BUT ANYWAY GREAT REVIEW… I will be getting one soon because i have the P260 which is the 200 ft lb impact wrench… Which works great but can’t have too many toys huh..??

@smithsfan425 7 жыл бұрын
GR8GUY54 these power tools either have brushes in their motors which is an older technology which causes the sparks and burning smell the original poster alluded to. It's normal. You also don't get as long a runtime as a "brushless" motor and somewhat less life on the tool compared to brushless (not substantially though). If you're not using it professionally it's not really an issue cause you won't be putting it through hell anyway.

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. kzbin.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

What good is an impact wrench tool-review without testing the actual torque in all three settings? Nothing here you can't get from simply looking at the box.
