always appreciate teardown videos that show the inner workings of tools. especially ryobi! at least this can make some use of a tool that died an unfortunate early death.

This is a very clear and informative video. My Ryobi drill is losing torque it makes that stripping sound when driving screws is that fixable?
@JohnSmith-ox7xc Жыл бұрын
Sounds similar to my issue. Seems ok with the 2nd gear, but on the 1st gear setting even on a higher clutch, it's like I've set it to 1 and doesn't have any power.
@CharlesNolanArt Жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-ox7xc What can be done?
@Russkiman96 Жыл бұрын
@@CharlesNolanArt you would need to open it and look at the gears to see if there is obvious damage. It can either be from the gears not engaging correctly (sometimes crud gets in a gearbox and impares smoth functionality) or from the gears being stripped out from heavy use. I personally have never seen any stripped out gears but i have only fixed dewalts as of right now. Usually the clutch on a drill is only engaged when you are out of drill or hammer mode and if that is what failed you would hear ratcheting in both gear 1 and gear 2. Seeing as you have no power only in gear 1 i dont think that the clutch is your issue but i cant bet 100% since i cant look at it

I do a lot of work in walk in freezers so my tools are covered in water constantly. What do you think would work better a brushless tool or brushed? I'm fine with modifying the tools to make them more water resistant but I'd prefer to have a warranty. I just toasted low gear on my drill so I'm shopping for a new one. I already have ryobi batterys and tools that work great but the cheapest drill ryobi makes seems to be a little too fragile. I'm actually pretty impressed with it all things considered. It took a couple 10 foot falls and it has plenty of torque.

I have a R18DDBL that i was trying to use on my 200mm ice augler to drill holes, but when i drill it stops not responding after like 5 sec, it push down good in the ice. Then i have to take out the battery and push it in, but its only working for like 2 sec. I use a heavy duty battery, but i now saw that i dont have the pin on this drill from 2017, so i assume the heavy duty function on the battery dont work. Is there any fix i can do on my ryobi R18DDBL so i can use it and drill holes in ice, or do i have to just buy a new machine ? I read something about that it's overheating, but have no clue. Any help or reply with solutions are grateful.

Gotta make sure you get the gears back together properly. Maybe see if u can revere whats in this video or just tinker around. If you didnt touch the gears then maybe u got crud inside that can make it not work properly

I have one of these, and the only thing i dont like about it is the chuck is really bad and lets go really often. From what i hear its a common thing with this drill. Any tips or fix?

@@macbook802 funny that you day that. I personally haven't had any issues but when i go to but faulty dewalts there seem to be plenty with chucks not holding bits. Also often get faulty drills where the chuck is locked onto a bit a seems like its broken stuck but its just stuck from corrosion and can be removed with some effort
@Russkiman96 Жыл бұрын
*Disclaimer to anyone reading* Dont dip your chick into acetone if its plastic on the outside use alcahol instead. It could be a problem of to much grease in the ratchet of the chuck. I noticed when i get some faulty dewalts they come with locked up chucks holding bits in them this usually happens when the drills have had moisture exposure and have super mild corosion in the chucks due to lack of grease. So maybe if you get rid of factory grease it may make it lock up better. You can try to run the chuck through a degreaser to wash extra grease out of it like isopropyl alcahol or acetone or something of that nature and substance (old paint removers used acetone). You may want glasses for this process since when you rev the drill up you may get alcahol or acetone drops flying everywhere. Basically get a container full of one of the liquids where you can get your drill chuck fully submerged then get your chuck either fully open or fully closed and submerge it in the liquid. pull it out after 30 secs or so and run it in and out a few times then leave it in the opposite position of where you initially had it during submersion. Rinse and repeat 5-10 times and see if that helped you
@kvernesdotten Жыл бұрын
@@Russkiman96 These come like this from factory tho, and since the later models after this does not have the same issue im just going to assume its a design flaw that has been fixed.

David, you could do me a huge favour. I live in the UK and I sometimes purchase Ryobi tools. Please could you post a picture of the power rating sticker on the back of the P3320 shop fan. I have bought on line a voltage converter rated at 200W and I need to know the wattage of the fan running at 110V. Then I can get an extension lead next time I'm in the US so I can use it powered from the wall socket.Thank you,Tony.
