Well done. I was especially impressed with the fact that you also got the lever handles the right way, as well. So many times I see them with the curved handles installed upside down.

You didn’t read the instructions ! yet you did a good job, on the side of the jig is a proper depth gauge.

Thanks! It's what I expected, but seeing it in use gives me greater confidence to do it on my own. I just chiseled one out as a test before I do all of my doors and realized going with a router is so much faster and professional looking. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with this tool.

Thin cardboard may help to avoid the mark left by the tightening screw on the device.

Time to go back to Home Depot! 😅 this is much better then the chisel method. you can spray the end of that screw with a rubber paint and that should help with marks on the door 3 layers of rubber paint should be good

Hey Alex, Can you suggest any similar jig to cut out hinge slot on the frame side?

Will it fit over a steel paneled walk in external door?

Where can I get this in the UK need it urgently
@peterbarlow891211 ай бұрын
It will do in a pinch. It doesn’t have much of a table for stability. If it’s like the Ryobi door boring jig I got it’s flimsy. Lucky I didn’t have too many doors.

@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello, Schlage. Kickset is cheap. Weiser ok . There is way more variety on door levers. Thanks

What is the name of the clear stop plate at 2:23 that attach to the drill ? Where to buy it ? Thank you
@alexthehandyman3494 Жыл бұрын
Hello J, That is a tool call "ROUTER" All routers come with that clear plate. It is a wood work specialty tool. You can buy a corded one for 60 or a battery one for 90. Good luck!1
