Recently got the P236 for free from someone who had barely used it. I also just picked up their brushless ONE+ Circ saw and the new battery kits with 6AH, 4AH, and 2AH in it. That P236 is definitely sufficient for any work I'm doing.

We can appreciate that the p236 finished the test without overheating too

The reason the second test was so close is because the older impacts have much heavier hammers allowing them to keep making progress easier in the higher torque situation

Tri beam, magnet, and ejector bitto cuzz is this winning combo. I hate... Hate hate hate battery top lights. They are only effective 50% of the time and if you use yours like I have as a light to look around a small cavity, the battery plate light Is useless

The p236 I can tell you it is die hard mine has been dropped railed on and forgotten in the rain has had a horrible life because it was cheap and I honestly tried to take care of it but kept saying to my self well if she blows she blows and still 8years later works good

I have an original set from way back of Ryobi 12v "driver drills" (bought two of them). Everyone on the job used them for years and they both still work. Had 4 batteries for them, one of those stopped working. They are in the garage and occasionally get used around the house now.

Same! My tyobi has smoked 2 of my old man's Dewalts and has gone off a roof, been dropped countless times and it in itself made me really like ryobi. I'll take it over the company provided Makita ANY day

This was a better drill than the newer ones I think. The trigger response was better

My guy, I have a P238VN and cannot use it, I fall back to my 18yo blue P230 impact driver because it starts the impact on less resistance. What am I doing wrong? I was so excited to get the quality of life improvements of the P238VN and stripped every screw I've tried to drive.

I do steel roofing. Ive had the p236 and the pdl. Between the two the 236 was far superior because I put in screws faster than the new one The new one would get smoked I think by the old one Edit After watching the video. I dont understand. I had the older drill for years and when I bought the new one, it wasnt as good as the old one I felt. I thought the trigger didnt respond well on the new one. Kind of like a delayed response to the trigger in the new one

The newest one gets too hot after putting screws in. All that metal surface radiates the heat

Which one would you recommend for HVAC technicians?
@zacksintheshop

Any of these would be sufficient. As a former HVAC tech I would go for something else like an M12 impact driver. Smaller with almost as much power.
