Had mine for at least 5 years. Starts first pull every time. Heaps of power. The best mower I`ve ever owned. Previous mower was a 4 stroke Victa that cost me over $400 10years ago. Absolute piece of rubbish.

Ive had mine for about 7-8 years now and had no issues. Have you come to the stage of either sharpening or replacing the blades? My 2 local mower stores wont sharpen Ryobi blades so wondering if you sharpened them yourself or purchased the replacement blades?

I just got a 2nd hand girl today. Fuck me dead shes a fatty; good bloody arm an leg workout on the hills an nooks. Just wondering if I can transplant this over to a decent body like a Masport? Shes loud an shes strong. Neighbours got a fright when I sparked this bad lassy up. Def need the ol ear muffs. Any ideas on how to make it catch grass better?; bloody thing leaves shit everywhere; not to mention she pisses grass dust out those green vents - fuck me they need a filter themselves

i wonder what the engine is the design from
@toemas84 жыл бұрын
Patrick Stapleton it’s a Subaru motor, apparently they have been making small industrial motors for some time. I actually hired a plate compactor the other day and it also has a Subaru motor (different type etc). I read up the other day that Yamaha had bought this division from Subaru, so that explains why the new ryobi mowers have Yamaha.

My starts well.. Engine is good. It just can't catch grass to save itself.. Not good for damper tasmanian weather.. I would never buy another one..

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on the Yamaha one. Can I get you personal thoughts on it? Cheers

What is the new price ?
@toemas85 жыл бұрын
Rolf Grosseholz hi there I paid $NZ450. They have a model below this for $NZ400 but engines 150cc and has a fabric grass catcher.

@@toemas8 Thanks for that. I have one to repair. The air filter cover wasnt a thight fit which allowed dust into the engine. So watch for that.

Rolf Grosseholz no worries yeah it can get hooked on bushes etc and come off... I’ll keep an eye on it thanks for that,

Rolf, I think this is one part of the mower that is a poor design. The intake is positioned such that the cleaner element is clogged after only a few hours of operation. It sucks half the flaming planet in. Surely a snorkel could have been fitted for only around ten dollars extra. If anyone out there has a way of achieving this please share. I feel this design or omission of a snorkel was purposely made to increase sales of cleaners and/or shorten engine life.

After 2 years mine shat itself, hope yours goes well, reviews are terrible should have read before purchase.

Thanks a pretty rubbish... still going strong for me . It was running pretty rough but it turns out it was the spark plug.

@@toemas8 My throttle cable snapped off the throttle body, its put on so flimsily just an L shape with nothing on the end of the wire for it to be held in place, got a masport and even though it's weaker cuts far better and got $100 back because it was cheaper than the ryobi.
@toemas83 жыл бұрын
Super_Slav what a shocker! Sure the masport will see you well. I think Victor is a good option especially with the aluminium body.
@REPOMAN247223 жыл бұрын
@@toemas8 Victa has lowered their quality allot since they were bought by B&S, it was a toss up between the masport and Victa but the masport had a better deck design.

Can't say im impressed with my.175cc Yamaha engine model The engine is great but the rest of the mower is junk The deck and bag shoot clogs easily the foam handle grips already falling apart the folding handle joint is very poorly designed mines already loose and ive had try reshape it and ill likely end up welding it solid Plus the swing blades would sharpen fine except two of the back edges have already busted off so the engine is vibrating the paint coatings flaking off the deck

Best of luck Engine's fine but the rest of its junk Mines cut 500sq metres of flat grass less than 20 times and theres issues The paint coatings flaking off badly the centre folding handle joint is very poorly designed mines already loose and mine's loose and ive had to try reshape it but ill probably need to weld it solid The deck and bag shoot clogs very easy plus the foam handle is already falling apart

Yeah it’s coming up to three years still going strong. I actually hit it with the water blaster and was amazed at how good it looks pretty good, below and above the deck no rust. I do agree the handle isn’t great … the foam started to come apart after year 2 . If the grass is wet it does tend to clog up especially when the catcher is almost full. I have been lucky I guess…
