Looks like ryobie comes in clutch, I think they might have the most tools for one company by now, seems like they come out with new stuff every year, then agin all the company’s do, but usually when they come out with stuff it’s just an updated tool, ryobie is thinking out the box with some of these things. Great video my friend, great to see what these company’s are doing with they’re lineups and the different lineups they have, thank you for going out of your way to make a video and spend your hard earned money. That shows the honesty in the video because it’s coming from you and knowing your going to go into this with an open mind and let us know what you think, that’s the best and why I like the style of video you make for us to check out. I like the 3ah with the charge indicator and "power bank" capability. These features should be on all the USB lithium batteries.

Agreed!!!! I just picked up a 2 pack of the 3AH batteries for $25! That’s less then a single 3AH.

I just purchased that kit as well! I also bought the rotary cutter and I love it for opening those welded plastic packages. 😁 I'm looking at picking up the heated foam cutter next.

That 4volt screwdriver is a life saver in the professional world as well, especially for low voltage stuff, wall plates, rack screws, heck it has the torque to get a drywall screw into wood. Also the lights again wonderful for field work and dark network closets.

I don't have Ryobi yet. I have a black and decker battery powered screw drive much like the Ryobi but probably 15 years old😂 The battery isn't removable you just plug in into the charger. The Ryobi package is definitely a great deal and as you mentioned, the screwdriver/nutdriver is a great option for low torque applications👍I think it might be time to retire my black and decker😊

I just replaced an old B&D screwdriver like that. My B&D was to the point the battery had almost no life so the swappable battery on the Ryobi was a big selling point.

@Sylvan_dB Yep, my battery doesn't hold a charge for very long. I just keep it plugged in all the time for those quick, low torque jobs.

I just picked up one of these the other day, My old ryobi screwdriver stopped charging and the battery is non replaceable. This new one is pretty cool but it would be nice if you could charge it without removing the battery.

I have such a love hate relationship with Ryobi. Specially the 40 volt line. This lithium line is really cool and very useful for around the house. But I’ll be sticking with Kobalt for my higher voltage hand tools cause they have better quality and power. But I will say that Ryobi has so many tools to choose from. I have the 18 volt bug light and I live that thing!! Also the Ryobi hot glue glue has been a lifesaver for me.

I have the ryobi tech 4 screwdriver that I bought a few years ago. Doesn’t swivel but it has a 5 amp hour battery. Don’t know why they switched to the lower 3 amp hour battery. Maybe because the 5 lasts forever without a recharge. I have a spare battery but rarely change it out. They no longer sell the tech 4.

Its cool. I have few older model cannot remove the battery like small Ryobi screwdriver and small rotary devices etc. will battery gone bad in few years? Can we crack it and replace it?

No it is not an invension it's simply an 18650 ION battery put in a plastic case together with and BMS. And then they can yet again sell their own charger which will only work with ryobi tools. I am personally sick on all companies selling their "own" battery packs. When they sell tools with an single ION battery why not put a standard 18650 in the tools instead of sell stuff that only works with their own bran?. It's simple they want us think they doing something new and cool. This clearly only creates more waste and trash for the enviroment. This is of course not unique for just Ryobi all companies doing similar bloat. Clearly not an innovation just waste/greenwaching...

Agree with you on standardizing 18650 instead putting their plastic case on it and call it USB Lithium like it something special. Remember though almost every company mainly cares about maximizing profits nothing else. The leads off these batteries comes straight to contacts so it easy to use any RC charger on it, can use a 3D printer to make case for to fit with leads. As for green environment that will never work when money is involved.

You can charge it with a USB C. You don’t need a proprietary charger.

​@BrandtHambrick we all know it charges with usb c, the problem is the tools/devices that takes this battery takes this specific 18650 with that housing on it. Using standard off the shelf 18650 means we can use any 18650 from ebay and amazon or 18650battery store. Using their designs means after the battery life cycles end means we need to buy ryobi battery, unless you work with lithium battery and can easily change the cells inside. The same goes for Milwaukee usb red lithium.

@@alexteixeira27 I have many 18650s but you need a special charger to charge them. Only people who vape or have higher end flashlights really have 18650 chargers. Everyone has a usb c charger.
