How To Install Catch Cans On A First Gen Nissan Titan

Hello again friends, today we are installing catch cans on my first gen Nissan Titan. I recently rebuilt this engine and spent so much time and effort cleaning it I would like to keep it that way. Below you will find the kit that I bought along with the fuel line I ended up using. I bought two so I can have one can for each side.

I have a 2015 infiniti qx80 with 210000 miles , very similar engine , i recently did the valve covers and cleaned the valves (PITA) this video is helpful to know where to place my catch tanks . Btw , at 210k miles the engine looks like new still !!

Those flimsy hoses were collapsing from vacuum during my initial install and tests. I got fuel line and no issues. The wire stuff works great for me. On my frontier, I usually drain about 30 to 40 ml of oil per oil change.

Same, I ended buying more fuel line like I used on the left side and it's perfect. Used fuel line ok my X too. It's nice that you don't have to empty between oil changes and it just becomes part of the maintenance.

13:50 Would you happen to have a before-pic if the Titan valves before you had them cleaned/rebuilt? I'm curious how much gunk was built up in them.

They've been doing great. They collect a decent amount of oil between changes but never get too full

I do leave them empty. They do just fine without them. 👍🏻

Is it From catch can -OUT to connect to the air intake valve ,the air intake is on top and connect the other tube to the valve below and is going to the IN-catch can? Thank you

Yes OUT of the valve cover INTO the catch can. Then OUT of the catch can, INTO the air intake.

Would it be worth doing 2 catch cans on the VQ40 in the Xterra, etc.?

If you drive it hard or do a lot of towing than yes. Otherwise I would skip it,

Have you ever noticed one side collecting more fluid compared to the other side?

Yes sir, I cannot recall which is which but one is used nearly all the time and the other is when the engine is under heavier load. So for this truck when I am not towing one side barely sees anything.

@@Rythecarguy I tend to see 3 to 4 times the amount collected in the drivers side can compared to the passenger side can when I empty them

@@Rythecarguy I have tried to "baby" it mostly, 2012 SV 4x4, I bought it new, 141,000 miles on it now, I haven't towed with it, but do haul some heavy loads in the bed from time to time.

Lo monte en mi coche con las mangueras que traían empecé a escuchar un silbido agudo y alto y me salto fallo de motor , inspeccioné con la máquina obd 2 y me aparece fallo p0300 , crees que daño algo ? Desinstale las maneras y fui a comprar de buena calidad pero ya no me dio tiempo de montarlas en el cach oil . Volví a colocar la manguera como viene de serie en mi Nissan titán E comprado 8 bujías nuevas y las montare mañana . Crees que podría haber dañado algo más serio ? Volveré a intentarlo con las mangueras nuevas
