If I had to guess, I'd say that the Derptective randomat forces the HUGE onto the camera, not the playermodel. So when the grav grenade forced him to third person, it didn't detach the gun, allowing him to still shoot.

@@Bobberation I am not an expert on Garry's Mod, but this is my conjecture about this situation. A player cannot be a physics object. The game treats players and physics objects as unrelated classes. When a player dies and becomes a corpse, this is actually sleight of hand by the game. Upon a player death, Garry's Mod removes the player entity and spawns a physics object, which matches the player's model, in that location. Therefore, when a player ragdolls, what I guess to be actually happening is that the game spawns a physics object corresponding to the ragdolled player, while the actual player is put into a state that makes them invisible, noclip, restricted from using weapons, and enabled to orbit the ragdoll at a fixed distance. This would explain Rythian's out of body experience. Every time a player is ragdolled, it is actually an out of body experience, but the game does an effective job of hiding this fact. However, the effects of the Derptective randomat forced Rythian to use a H.U.G.E. which he could not unequip, therefore, he still had it when he was put into the state described above.

So I think how the out of body thing happened, is the derptective randomat made it so Rythian only had the huge as a inventory slot and kept giving him a huge whenever his inventory was emptied. Thus the grab grenade which appears to rag doll you and force holsters you failed to holster Rythian's gun, now he has a gun while in third person (definitely not something that's supposed to happen) and thus he can shoot while in third person. Unfortunately the only thing that can be in your cross hair while in third person is well *you*.

Sounds about right, works like all the "give a player X weapon every Y seconds" like the poon or boomerang ones. I think this is the first time one of those has been going on while a grav grenade was used (because normally the grenade would be replaced with the randomat weapon) and it just equipped a new weapon for him. Fun bug that'll probably never show up again

He might have been able to kill Ben that way, if he had waited a little while. Ben's body had drifted right next to his. If he had rotated his camera to place ben between it and himself, the bullets probably would have hit the shark and not the lawyer. IIRC, the hit scan rays usually come out of the eyes in the Source engine, so the bullets were very likely flying from the camera's position.

I think the problem with that logic is that, earlier in the round, it refused to go towards Lewis to get to Boba, so that means it is detects Traitors and Jesters as the same thing. So you wouldn't know whether the person is a Jester or a Traitor, one of which you want to shoot, the other you most definitely do not want to shoot.

Here's my initial guess on what happened: I'm assuming the mod for adding the 3rd person view used by the grav-grenade moves the 1st person view outside the character model, and disables weapons by trapping the player in a reloading or weapon-swapping animation. Following this assumption, having either the infinite ammo or preventing the derptective from swapping weapons disabled whichever animation that is utilized by the mod. Thus allowing Rythian to shoot himself when he went 3rd person.

You can only be killed if they kill your original body and you can be cut off if the person shooting shoots a chain or spirit thing that connected to your body. It would be easier to implement then you’d think; the spirit they have already in game would be the chain, the ghost would be like a beepulon and the spirit would be shaped like the ghost from randomat(or the old item that shows who they were shot by; it’d just duplicate the person and make them transparent) and it would have a range like a spectator spectating someone in the third person.

I feel like that out of body experience should be a randomat like the world drop grav grenades every so often and possibly make it so it is a chance of what happened to Rythian happen when the randomat happens. Also bringing back mimics and a randomat that spawns mimics and props for them if there isn't enough but it also summons bees to make it pure chaos
