The cat is from monster hunter. You usually have little cat companions called palico in those games. Although the species is just called Felyne, the ones working with the hunters are usually called palico. They are basically cats that walk around on two legs and can use tools and such proficiently. They are about a meter/3 feet tall. The sounds used for the mario maker costume are so bad. Usually the cats are cute little buggers. But aside from the death scream, nothing even sounds anything like felynes from monster hunter here. The jump sound effects and such, they all don't fit at all. And the level completion music honestly was pretty bad compared to MH music. I know people IT WAS MONSTER HUNTER MUSIC, yes, but it was more like an 8bit remix specific for mario maker. And the real one, "Proof of a Hero" which is pretty much repeated in every monster hunter installment, is just much much much better. Obviously they wouldn't put a whole blowns orchestral epic music piece in here. But it was barely recognizable in the remixed version... Just make an 8 bit version without remixing it.

I get the frustration but isn't there like an insane amount of costumes? They probably just threw little easter eggs in quickly for them instead of going all out, though I agree it would have been nice.

I was confused as to why they used such unfitting sounds instead of just grabbing sounds directly from MH. And I named the original song the remix is based on so that people can go listen to it to see how amazing MH music is. No frustration, just recommending people the great game that is MH :D

That was not only some sort of posturous but it was kind of cool. It's not often that the star is used in a way that makes you just hurry along some precision jumps, making already hard jumps harder. Not in Mario Maker anyway. The star is usually given to solve a spike maze or to run through enemies before the end, both of which are objectively a waste of time for both the player and the level creator. It's nice to see the star powerup being properly used instead of wasted or used as a troll. And I think the costume check is a great addition, as well as the little fake troll. It's just a really great level.

You can say with 100% certainty that there is a probability that that level is not going to be easy :p People think you can say that about ghosts or gods existing, but that is incorrect.
