There are certain characters like Balrog and Ken who can go for a mixup when they forward jump after a throw. Are there any other similar narratives like this in other games?

yea of course how tight it is varies on game of course and what the options are.. I just showed this off because ive never heard of anyone actually talking about how dee jay and balrog legit can not jump out of it in ST if you time and space it correctly.

And just because it was mentioned in the comments about what about doing the machine gun punch to go through the slow fireball though? well to do that you would have to mash it, which then allows you to be punished like this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3vOh4mgfqt_jsk kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp-blqiPgK51h68 you could actually even technically get a jump in punish on this but if the dee jay were to contiune then you would be hit if you jumped in, so these options would of course be safer.. whatever the case to my knowledge if timed and spaced correctly old dee jay has nothing he can do vs this... again though as noted although its easy enough to time to make it so dee jay cant forward or back jump out of fireball trap Xn, setting it up so he cant neutral jump out of it as well is actually pretty specific and tight.

ST still has the most satisfying zoning game after all these years; there are layers. It's oppressive, but interesting and there are still ways to escape, but you usually need to guess right twice to flip the tables. Alpha 2 is a distant second.

I knew of this from playing the older games frequently but also while playing Ryu and figuring out that certain ranges etc is a trap/no jump situation.

old DJ can go through multiple fbs of ryu ni the corner. and can go through the jab fb with ease.

Like I said to my knowledge old dee jay if this is spaced correctly and timed correctly has no answer to it whatsoever.. albeit of course to make it unneutral jumpable is quite specific but still possible. And certainly unforward or unback jumpable is more easier to time.
