Specifically videogame console emulation. This channel does showcase hardware reviews, but ETA primarily deals in hardware in relation to it's gaming potential. Although he has branched out a bit to cover media and productivity. You can play old PC and console games via the use of emulators. Dolphin for Gamecube, CEMU for Wii U, Redream for Dreamcast, etc. There are many emulators to choose from. ETA is awesome because he shows us what the hardware can do before we buy it.
@SIPEROTH5 жыл бұрын
@@muhamadatarigsyah1001 Emulators are programs that allow you to use software of different devices on your system. So a PS1 emulator allows you to play the software of a PS1 game like Tekken 3 or Parasite Eve etc. So he loads emulator programs that simulate different consoles etc and loads their game software on that program and plays games that are not for PC threw his PC and measures how smooth they play and whether they have good performance since emulator programs need quite a lot more power than what that game you play threw emulator would have needed if it had a PC version.

For those saying these are not "true" 3000 series, yes they are. There were no 1000 series APUs and the 2000 ones that came out with the 2000 series Zen+ lineup were Zen-based not Zen+. The APUs are always one generation behind, that's how AMD can release them without cannibalizing their other products and at a low price.
@Minecraftminer30005 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't necessarily say that they are always a full generation behind. The 2200G and 2400G did contain some improvements from the rest of the Zen+ 2000 series CPUs when compared to Zen 1, although still at the 14nm node. I'd say that it's more like half a generation behind.

Hi ETA Prime, I first want to say that I love your channel and I think you have the coolest voice ever. It's always a treat in my day to sit down and watch your latest episode. If there was a request I could make, it would be that whenever you run emulation tests (particularly when GameCube/Dolphin is involved), could you please add the Factor 5 Star Wars games to your tests? I'm of course referring to Rogue Squadron II & III. These games are notorious for being the most difficult to emulate due to Factor 5's extreme optimizations within their games' microcode. I have a Core i5 3570K (overclocked to 4.8 GHz) and with some tweaking I can get most stages of these games up to 60fps, but I'm curious to see how well these games perform on newer CPUs such as this Ryzen 3400G. This is PERFECT, it plays all actual gen multiplattform console games but without their endless console FPS-optimizations, ugly lowest quality shadows and endless immersion-destroying popups, but with personalized highest PC quality graphics settings. And the price is awesome too! Saves me buying a graphics card for several months now untill Flight Sim 2020 releases. Absolute fantastic system, this APU makes it theoretical possible to build a 240€ PC (if buying a 100€ mainboard, 140€ cost the Ryzen APU, and if some RAM, the case with power supply and some harddrives etc. is already available from other older PCs) but with fullest gaming capability! Really great. The power consumption is absolutely stunning great, all consoles need 80 Watts at idling and ~400 Watts while gaming plus 160 Watts for the monitor (and that clearly shows on the power bill when a gaming system with 560 Watts power consumption is running about 4-6 hours every evening!). But these AMD APU only needs 45-65 Watt while gaming. Fantastic ultralow power consumption on Laptop and Notebook level. Absolute perfect.

It would have been nice if you benchmarked the 1% and 0.1% lows, I think they also are very important when it comes to APU's and their overall stability. Nonetheless great job and thank you very much for uploading this.

Hey thanks for reviewing the new AMD 3rd gen Ryzen 3400g with old motherboard 🙏. I hope next video you make the OC and make a comparation with new motherboard. 1 more can you make a video how to update the bios old motherboard so the new AMD 3rd gen Ryzen 3400g can be compatible (used) in old motherboard. Before that I would like say Thank You very much for this video review 🙏. Good luck and success for your channel.

The reason the tdp stayed the same is because of the smaller NM process. More efficient and can accomplish more with the same power while staying cool.

I hear that Vulkan support in CEMU is going to be coming out pretty soon. They've already made an adjustment in the menus to account for different graphic API's, so I guess we will see. I'd be interested to see if performance was improved on these AMD budget APU's. Apparently Vulkan gave RPCS3 an increase of 400 % so I'm crossing my fingers that my 2500u will be enough to run Mario Kart 8 at full speed.

Hey man, I'm a bit confused, looks like you installed the RAMs on wrong slots i.e. not in dual channel slots. In dual channel mode each RAM should only run half-speed but not in your case when I noticed in your task manager. A1 & B1 or 1st & 3rd slots are normally reserved for Single Channel of the same type . A2 & B2 or 2nd & 4th slots are typically reserved for Dual Channel of the same type.

I sold 2400g and bought 3400g and i am happy. no regrets. the truth is that APUs need all the power they need because FPS hovers within 60FPS so that extra 10% - 15% extra boost is important. I really like AMD APUs. I play Borderlands 3 at 2560x1080 at low settings and 75% resolution scale and I get high 40FPS. Also i find that 3400g is more friendly for memory overclocking. I am running Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz @ 3400Mhz 100% solid. I had issues oveclocking the same memory over 3200Mhz with 2400g. So right there I have another couple extra frames to play games.

Not bad for a budget SoC. The iGPU is actually capable of low to mid settting 720-1080p gaming. Still, this is essentially a better binned and factory overclocked 2400G. The 500W PSU is overkill for such build, unless you're planning to install a dedicated GPU.

Depend on your setup and usage really, personally I don't think there is much difference between this gen and last gen, cpu wise the 2200/3200 and the 2400/3400 in term of daily use and gaming wise if you use external gpu, personally, unless I am building something that doesn't allow me use gpu like the asrock mini pc case I would choose the ryzen 3 over ryzen 5

With the new Radeon GPU's that just came out forcing Nvidia to actually compete aggressively with their prices it looks like it may be actually time to think about building a new machine in a few months. I've really liked what i've seen with the 2070 Super. Although the Radeon card offers slightly better performance for the price I think I still want the RTX features. My old build developed some instability so I slid my trusty GTX 970 into an HP Z400 hex core Xeon workstation that I scored from work to use as a gaming machine till some of the next generation hardware hits shelves. It's soldiered along great. I'm glad I got my 970 when I did because the crypto miners really screwed the gaming community visa vis GPU demands.

On Newegg right now the 3400G is going for $145 while the 2400G is $130. It'd be worth it to get the 3400G for that $15 price difference. I'm seeing 2400Gs on eBay for under $60, so I'm looking at the 2400G as the go to if I can get one off eBay for under $60.

Not sure if your point of view was entirely fair towards the 3400G. I'm quite positive that the 12nm process has a certain maturity over the 14nm node. To add to that - better RAM support. Not everyone using a Ryzen APU has a kit of 2x8 GB 3200MHz CL14 for optimal "scores" in those benchmarks. I'd say it's a decent upgrade over the 2400G, but not as good of upgrade, as a dedicated graphics card. I've built a 2400G for myself last winter, w/o any GPU, and I'm extremely happy in terms of price and performance. But given that an RX580 can be found for as little as the 20$ over the 3400G price right now in my market, I'd rather not upgrade the CPU. Had the prices stayed as high as 2017 "farmers craze", I'd hop on the 12nm train straight away ;)
