I know this is a year late, but for posterity 4k results are entirely about the graphics card, as you are graphics bound. 1080p Results show you your processor performance, as the graphics card can run at much higher frame rates. He had it backwards in this video.

I don’t think the 7600x is worth it right now. The prices for the motherboards and ram is too high right now. I have a 12600k with ddr5 ram, and the performance is almost exactly the same as with the 7600x in this video with what I have on my 12600k. I saved $150 (cad) compared to the 7600x, with the ram and motherboard. Wait a few months before getting the 7600x and buy it from the used market in order to get a better worth from it if you’re gonna go 7000 series

I'm leaning more toward the 7600x simply because AMD is proven they will support the mb platform for a lot longer than Intel. Buy into AM5 now and can probably get 7000, 9000, 11000, maybe even 13000 series CPU support. The 12th and 13th gen intel having board compatibility is the first time intel has every supported their mb platform for multiple generation. Intel usually always makes you buy a new mb if you upgrade your cpu.
@captpootis849511 ай бұрын
They are making 8000 series cpus for 2024, but Intel is still on lga 1700. Intel might make one more gen (15th gen) and move on to a new socket. Which tbh, If the 13900k and the current 7000 series can use 4090's and everything before, I don't see the reason to upgrade. If you pickup a ryzen 5600x and say a 4060ti, 3060, 6700xt, 7800xt and are happy, there isn't much more to do. I'm going to purchase a i5 12600kf ($195) and a 7800xt ($559.99 red devil) to dabble in some 1440p and 2k gaming. And since intel hasn't left lga just yet if i really need to i can just get a i7 12700k or something along those lines. But since 8000 series is coming out, we should see price cuts across the board like with what they did to 6000 series radeon. Which would be amazing, same with intel on 14th gen. Something i think would be cool though is if Ryzen adapted E Cores like what intel has. The i5 12600kf is a nice option because of those 4 E cores mocking 10 cores for workstation application. Seeing a Ryzen 3 with just even 2 or 4 E cores would be nuts.

So the conclusion is, in order for AMD ryzen 7000 series to be on par with intel 12th gen CPUs or in some instances, to beat intel 12th gen counterparts, you need EXPENSIVE MOTHERBOARDS ( Motherboards that cost over the price of the CPU ) , and you need DDR5 RAMs ( Which will cost x3 to x4 times the price of DDR4 RAMs ) . I very much apreciate AMD architectural achievement here, higher base clock speeds, higher all core boost speed. But a customer who buys an expensive AM5 motherboard today, can they trust AMD and have faith that they will not have to change their motherboard again after like 3 years. On intel side, 13th gen CPUs support previous generation CPU socket ( LGA 1700 ) and it will support both DDR4 and DDR5 RAMs. But the downsize is, in order for intel to achieve those claimed perfomance numbers, like Nvidia did, they have to use more power. So customers have to decide whether to buy an expensive motherboard and DDR5 RAMs which will cost them one time and be efficient in running AMD 7000 series or customers who has motherboards which has LGA 1700 socket do not have to spend money on expensive motherboards and RAMs but have to bear the electricity bill every month. LOL
